Ubisoft reveals the patch notes for Title Update 1.06 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, addressing a long list of bugs and other issues with the game. Despite being one of the worst-kept secrets prior to its reveal back in the spring, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced seems to have hit the mark with fans looking to return to a simpler time in the long-running franchise.
Although it was built on the bones of Assassin’s Creed 4, Ubisoft confirmed that this remake is more than just a prettier-looking port of a game from 2013. Utilizing the Anvil Engine meant that the Ubisoft dev team had to perform a complete rebuild for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Game director Richard Knight revealed that none of the original code could be reused or salvaged due to the code base being so different. Not only that, previous assets could really only be used as reference to model the new content, seeing how things worked and then rebuilding them in the new engine. Either way, it seems that hard work paid off, even if there are some bugs and other issues floating about.
The latest update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced arrives on August 4, 2026, but to prepare fans, Ubisoft has released the patch notes a day early. For those looking for some new things to dig into, Ubisoft has added one quality of life improvement for fans of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s blowpipe. Based on player feedback, Ubisoft added an option to hide the blowpipe from Edward’s back. From the outfit screen in the inventory, there’s now a button prompt to Hide Gear and then Show Gear to toggle the tool on or off.
Overall, the lengthy list of patch notes is light on new features and content compared to previous Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced updates. However, this particular Title Update should help stabilize the game by fixing a number of issues and bugs. Autosaves have increased, allowing players to load up to 10 saves from earlier moments in the game. Ubisoft has also fixed a number of potential crash triggers, strange animations, camera bugs, and other visual issues as well.

For those curious, the update is fairly large for most platforms, with the Xbox Series X/S the largest at 15.2 GB. PlayStation 5 comes in slightly lower at 5.03 GB, followed by PC users at 3.7 GB. Finally, those players running the Steam version, they’ll only need a slight 1.8 GB of free space to download this update.
It’s also worth noting that this update fixes a relatively smaller issue, but one that has left many in the community completely frustrated with. One of the more popular quality of life additions has been the ability to toggle Edward’s hood on or off, even during cinematic moments like the Leap of Faith. However, recent reports from players noted that the hood toggle feature in Black Flag Resynced was removed after a recent update. Thankfully, with Title Update 1.06, the bug that impacted the toggle has been fixed, meaning players can once again capture some stylish moments with or without the hood.
