Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s The Last Chapter DLC brings Eivor’s saga to a close, and here is how you can start it.
The Last Chapter for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a free content update that provides the necessary closure to Eivor’s journey. The Last Chapter mostly offers story expository content with very few gameplay elements.
The Last Chapter quest was added to AC Valhalla as part of the 1.6.2 update. However, unlocking the quest is not an easy task. While you don’t have to own the story expansions or any other paid DLCs for Valhalla, you’ll need to complete a number of activities within the main story to get The Last Chapter show up in the quest log.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: 6 Things You Should Never Buy From Merchants
Merchants are a helpful resource for any Viking, but these items are bigger losses than any raid.
Pre-Requisites To Unlock The Last Chapter
The Last Chapter quest pops up in the quest log once players complete the game’s main story along with a few side activities. Listed below is a checklist that players can follow to ensure that they are ready for The Last Chapter in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla:
- Main Story: Pledge all territories across England and complete their respective story arcs, thereby completing the base game’s main story.
- Mythic Arcs: Complete the Asgard and Jotunheim mythic arcs. These can be accessed by speaking to Valka in Ravensthorpe.
- Settlement Upgrade: Players must upgrade their Ravensthorpe settlement to level 5.
- Order of the Ancients: Find and defeat all Order of the Ancients targets.
How To Start The Last Chapter Quest
Once players complete the checklist listed above, the “Last Goodbyes” becomes available in the quest log. Players will also receive an onscreen notification titled “The Last Chapter” with Basim in the attested image.
The quest can be started by heading south of the Ravensthorpe settlement and interacting with the wooden log, which kicks off a conversation between Eivor and Odin. Basim can also been seen overlooking Eivor and Odin. With the Last Goodyes completed, the game adds four new quests under the quest log, three of which require the player to travel to different regions of England, and one quest takes them all the way back to Norway.
Completing The Last Chapter rewards players with the Jarl of the Raven Clan armor set, which can be equipped from the inventory once the player has control of Eivor after The Last Chapter cutscene concludes.
New Features Included With The Last Chapter Update
In addition to the story content, The Last Chapter Update also includes a few other technical improvements, enhancing the assassin experience:
- Hood Always On: While only a cosmetic feature, the ability to have the hood always on was among the most requested features for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players can enable the features from within the “Gameplay” options.
- Slide Focus Skill: With the Slide Focus, Eivor can now aim and shoot their bow while sliding. When sliding, the world around Eivor slows down, allowing the player to precisely aim at their target.
- MasterChef Skill: The MasterChef skill enables the player to generate an adrenaline point upon consuming rations.
