At Least 4 More PlayStation Games Are Being Shut Down in the Near Future

As 2025 begins to wrap up, a number of PlayStation fans will be logging onto PSN for the first time, thanks to holiday gifts and seasonal discounts. Both first-time and veteran players will have some heavy-hitting releases to enjoy, including console exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the 2024 Game of the Year winner Astro Bot. While there will certainly be no shortage of titles to choose from, audiences may be surprised to hear that the impending New Year will see a handful of games being delisted from PlayStation platforms, so interested fans will want to act fast and download these titles before they are gone.

It is by no means uncommon to see games delisted from PSN, Xbox Game Pass, or other online video game subscription services. In fact, each month generally brings plenty of new games to these services, while a smaller quantity are removed from sale. Various factors can impact why a game might be delisted, ranging from online servers no longer receiving support from a developer, low purchase and download rates leading to removal from stores, and plenty of other reasons that may or may not be made public by the developer or publisher.

This Is How Much Money You Saved on Games With PS Plus Essential in 2025

2025 proves to be another great year for PS Plus subscribers, with Sony’s service giving away dozens of games with a 4-digit total retail value.

4 More Games Leaving PlayStation Soon

  • WWE 2K24
  • NBA Live 19
  • Anthem
  • Super Trunko Go

At least 4 more games are confirmed to be leaving PlayStation soon, including WWE 2K24, Super Trunko Go, Anthem, and NBA Live 19. In the case of WWE 2K24, it has been confirmed by the developer that the game’s servers will officially be shutting down, though players who already own the game can continue to enjoy the offline single-player modes. Despite WWE 2K24‘s developer moving the server shutdown date from its originally announced January date to sometime in March, the full game and all of its add-ons will still be pulled from sale on PSN on January 31, 2026. As such, fans who want to snag either the game or any of the WWE 2K24 DLC will want to do so before the end of January.

January will also see two major EA games officially joining the delisted lineup, with both NBA Live 19 and Anthem up on the chopping block. The Anthem servers are closing down on January 12, while NBA Live 19 is going offline on January 30. Anthem certainly had its fair share of mixed reviews, and many are anticipating the game to go out with a whimper and not much fanfare for its farewell. NBA Live 19 unfortunately never stood a fair chance against the much more dominant NBA 2K series, but the game was appreciated by those who were longtime supporters of the franchise. It was the final entry in the series and could be a worthwhile pick-up for basketball fans, though a majority of the game’s content does rely on the online services that will be terminated in January.

Rounding out the list of games set to be delisted from PlayStation is the 2023 top-down shooter Super Trunko Go. An official removal statement was shared by developer 88 Polygons Ltd., which did not give a specific reason for the game’s upcoming delisting but thanked fans for their support. Players will need to grab Super Trunko Go by the end of December 2025, and, again, those who already own the game will still be able to play it even after it gets removed from PlayStation’s online store.

The removal of games from PSN, Xbox Game Pass, and other online services remains a point of contention among fans. Many feel that developers who no longer wish to maintain servers should give fans access to the resources needed to provide community support, thus allowing fans to keep playing the games rather than seeing them simply disappear from gaming history. With monthly updates likely to reveal even more games leaving PlayStation in the future, and others due to be added, interested fans can stay tuned to see what 2026 has in store for PSN.
