Ball x Pit Heading to New Platforms

Ball x Pit is officially coming to iOS and Android devices on March 12, 2026. This mobile version of Ball x Pit will make the indie game widely available on most modern platforms, with it already on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Released in October 2025, Ball x Pit is a roguelike game that combines the classic arcade gameplay of Atari’s Breakout with addictive base-building mechanics. Upon its launch, Ball x Pit earned a very strong critical reception, with it currently sitting at a Top Critic Average of 86 on OpenCritic with 92% of critics recommending the game. Ball x Pit has also received multiple award nominations, including for The Game Awards 2025’s Best Independent Game, the Game Developers Choice Awards’ Best Debut, Best Design, and Innovation Award, and the New York Game Awards’ Excelsior Award for Best New York Game, with it winning the latter.

Ball x Pit Is Coming to iOS and Android on March 12, 2026

Announced via a post on X, Ball x Pit is heading to iOS and Android on March 12, 2026, with pre-orders available now on both the App Store and Google Play. This announcement also teased a trial feature for Ball x Pit‘s upcoming mobile versions, where players will be able to try the game for free with no ads. Those wanting to play the full experience will then be able to unlock Ball x Pit with a single in-app purchase. Based on the game’s official description in the Google Play Store, it seems as though this mobile version of Ball x Pit will feature the same content as its previously released console and PC ports.

These iOS and Android versions of Ball x Pit are coming at the perfect moment for those looking to get into the roguelike for the very first time. At launch, Ball x Pit was already packed with content, including 16 playable characters, 18 special balls, and a plethora of ball evolutions and fusions that significantly impact moment-to-moment gameplay. Given Ball x Pit‘s roguelike nature, the game is also designed on a fundamental level to be highly replayable.

On January 26, Ball x Pit received the Regal Update, a free content drop that added two new characters, eight new balls, three new passive abilities, and a long-requested Endless Mode. Two further major updates are set to hit Ball x Pit in 2026, both of which will also be completely free of charge to those who own the base game. In April, Ball x Pit will receive the ‘Shadow’ update, while July will see the release of the ‘Naturalist’ update. Neither of the upcoming updates has been fully detailed by publisher Devolver Digital or developer Kenny Sun, but they’ll bring even more new characters, balls, evolutions, and buildings to the game.

Back at the start of December 2025, Ball x Pit announced that it had officially sold one million copies. That number will likely only grow with the upcoming release of Ball x Pit on iOS and Android.
