Arc Raiders’ new Riven Tides update frequently sends you to the eponymous map for questing, helping you to acclimate to each of its points of interest. In Battening Down, you’ll need to visit three locations and interact with prompts before heading back to Speranza for your reward. It shouldn’t take long to knock this one out, but it can be a bit of a trek going between the spots.
You don’t need to extract with anything in Battening Down, so feel free to tackle this one using a free kit if you want to be safe. The entire quest takes place on the outer portion of the northern section of the map, which tends to be less active, but that doesn’t necessarily mean trouble can’t be waiting somewhere along the way.
When you’re ready to take on Battening Down, follow the steps below.
Photograph the cracks forming in the seawall
The first step in Battening Down is to take a photo of cracks forming in the seawall located along the northern part of the Riven Tides map. There are multiple locations you can take a photo. We spotted at least two, which you can see on the map below–but there are likely even more.
Simply take a photo when you arrive at the prompt.

Next, you’ll need to sample the shoreline near the beach.

To sample the shoreline near the beach, head to the spot below.

When you arrive, you’ll notice some seaweed in a pile along the coast. Simply interact with this to complete the step.

Next, you’ll have to fix the leaking oil pipe in the northeast.

Finally, you’ll need to fix a leaking oil pipe at the far northeast corner of the map.

This can be a bit tricky to spot since there are no obvious signs of a leak anywhere on the pipe, so the photo below is angled to give you the best idea of the exact spot where the prompt appears.

And with that, you’ve finished Battening Down. You’re now free to return to Speranza and continue along your journey through the Riven Tides update.
