Battlefield Redsec, the battle royale spin-off of Battlefield 6, is getting a new Solos playlist for everyone to try very soon. Fans had been asking for it since launch, and it’s finally coming, albeit in an early “experimental” form, and only for a limited time.
Redsec Solos will be available during the March 6-9 weekend as a Battlefield Labs test, but, unlike other previous Labs tests, this one is open to everyone in the live version of the game.
“The goal of the test is to gather feedback and assess how Redsec’s pacing, balance, and tension hold up in a true one-versus-everyone format. This mode is experimental and subject to change,” Battlefield Studios said.
The team added that the aim is to gather data in the game’s live version, as opposed to the smaller-scale, invite-only Labs. Battlefield Studios added that the plan is to “occasionally” add more of these kinds of tests for the live version of the game to gather more data in a live environment.
Redsec launched without a solos playlist, with design director Justin Wiebe saying the studio prioritized the “squad-based experience” that defines Battlefield. Wiebe also said a solos playlist was “not something you just turn on and just say, ‘OK, solos.'”
“If we were just to throw that out and say, ‘Well, now you can just play solos, and you’re unlocking these abilities that don’t even matter to you,’ that feels like a fail,” he said back in 2025.
Other popular battle royale games like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and PUBG have Solos options. Redsec also has Duos and Squads for teams of two and four, respectively.
Battlefield 6, meanwhile, semi-recently welcomed its Season 2 update, bringing a new map, more guns, and other fresh content. Data from Steam shows that player levels spiked around the time Season 2 came out, but has since fallen back to around its previous normal baseline.
Regardless, Battlefield 6 was 2025’s No. 1 best-selling game in the US, while Black Ops 7 had the Call of Duty franchise’s worst sales year ranking since 2008.
