Recent announcements from Bethesda confirm that fans of the Fallout franchise have four new games to be excited about — at the very least. Fallout is one of Bethesda’s core franchises, and its popularity has started reaching new heights, largely thanks to projects like the well-received TV series on Amazon Prime Video.

As far as video games go, the Fallout franchise hasn’t seen a new release since 2018’s Fallout 76. Fallout 76‘s launch was disastrous, but the game has been dramatically improved with updates and expansions that have addressed fan concerns and added worthwhile content. Bethesda will continue supporting Fallout 76 with updates, but in the meantime, fans can also look forward to four single-player entries in the franchise.

List of All Upcoming Fallout Games Currently Announced

  • Fallout 3 Remastered
  • Fallout: New Vegas Remastered
  • Obsidian Fallout Game
  • Fallout 5

Bethesda has confirmed that it has at least four Fallout games in development. The long-rumored Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters are on the way, and it’s also been confirmed that a new Fallout game is in development at Obsidian Entertainment. Bethesda also reiterated that Fallout 5 is its next game after The Elder Scrolls 6 is done, with the project officially entering preproduction. It’s hard to say exactly when all these games will release, but a safe bet would be that all four projects are out within the next decade, meaning the next 10 years are going to be especially busy for fans of the franchise.

Bethesda has said that it won’t be hosting a Fallout Day broadcast this year, but that it will be back in Washington, D.C. in 2027 to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. It’s assumed that the Fallout 3 remaster will be releasing next year as a result, perhaps as a shadow drop during the broadcast. It’s entirely possible that the New Vegas remaster will release next year as well, but Bethesda may want to spread the releases out a bit. After the remasters, it’s likely that Obsidian’s Fallout game will be next in line, with Bethesda’s Fallout 5 coming last.

Beyond new single-player games, there’s even more for Fallout fans to look forward to in the years ahead. In 2027, Fallout 76 is getting the Raven Rock expansion, which will serve as a prequel to Fallout 3. Fallout Season 3 is expected to premiere next year as well, with a Fallout Shelter reality show also in development. Bethesda plans on releasing more updates for the Fallout Shelter mobile game and Fallout 76, too, so there should be no shortage of Fallout releases.

Before Bethesda fully dives into Fallout, it will need to finish work on The Elder Scrolls 6. Skyrim was first released in 2011, so it’s already been a staggering 15 years since the last main series Elder Scrolls game. A specific release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 has yet to be revealed, but it’s assumed that the game will launch at some point in 2028 or later. This means that fans shouldn’t expect Fallout 5 to drop until some time in the early 2030s, so hopefully the other Fallout projects help tide them over.
