Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 released its fourth May update to address some multiplayer issues, including a bug fix for the Sentry Turret that could occur. The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 patch also placed some restrictions on specific MPC-25 weapon builds to keep the competitive meta fair for all players.
As of this writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is almost done with Season 3 Reloaded, as developers Treyarch and Raven Software look toward Season 4 in the coming weeks. Although some official details for Black Ops 7‘s upcoming season are still under wraps, Treyarch stated that skill rating (SR) during Ranked Play will be overhauled to no longer factor in hidden matchmaking rating (MMR) or other variables beyond a player’s control. Given that Black Ops 7‘s Season 3 Reloaded has just a few days left, players looking to complete the RoboCop event pass must do so quickly.

Black Ops 7 Fixes Some Lingering Season 3 Reloaded Problems
However, given that Black Ops 7 is one of the largest PC games by file size, some issues can slip through the cracks. On May 22, Treyarch and Raven Software released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update across all platforms to address some lingering issues. One issue in particular previously prevented the user interface from properly reflecting which weapon fire mode was toggled by the player. This issue was persistent in multiple game modes, and players should now see which firing mode is active on their UI at any given time. Another change was made to fix an issue with the Black Hat field upgrade. Previously, if a Sentry Turret was stolen via a Black Hat and placed down, players could be stuck holding a turret that could not be deployed onto the battlefield.

Along with the UI and Black Hat fixes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also placed some restrictions on the MPC-25 during Ranked Play. The MPC-25 is one of the best submachine guns (SMG) in Black Ops 7 due to its hipfire accuracy and high damage-per-shot. However, the Black Ops 7 development team has prohibited MPC-25 users from equipping specific attachments, such as the Flowguard Foregrip and Recoil Sync Unit fire mod, for the sake of competitive parity during Ranked Play. It is unclear if or when these restrictions will be lifted in Black Ops 7 Season 4.
Additionally, one of Call of Duty: Zombies‘ toughest challenges received a change that prevented a prestigious reward from being granted. Now, players can earn the Aether Ruler title after clearing the Totenreich map with all eight Wicked Relics active. Given that Totenreich is a fan-favorite standard map in Call of Duty: Zombies, time will tell how many more players will claim the elusive Aether Ruler title.

With the next season right around the corner, support for Black Ops 7 is showing no signs of slowing down. As anticipation builds around the next Call of Duty title in development, it remains to be seen how player perceptions of Black Ops 7 will change over time.
