Bloodborne Player Done Helping People After 11 Years Because Game Is Dead

Bloodborne Player Done Helping People After 11 Years Because Game Is Dead

For one Bloodborne fan, it is the end of an era. After helping thousands of other players for over a decade beat one specific and tricky boss in FromSoftware’s beloved PlayStation 4 exclusive, Noahman is finally retiring because he just doesn’t get summoned anymore. He’s even stopped paying for PlayStation Plus as a result and is now determined to move on with his life.

On May 27, Noahman posted on the FromSoftware subreddit that it was “time to say goodbye to Bloodborne.” More specifically, Noahman was saying goodbye to The Orphan of Kos, a boss that he had been fighting over and over again for over a decade.

“Thousands of fights, Thousands of kills,” posted the dedicated Bloodborne fan. “But the playerbase has shrunk to a point where I don’t get summoned anymore. If you ever summoned me, thank you.”

Gamesradar chatted with Noahman after he announced his retirement from the game. He explained the reason he focused all his Bloodborne energy on Kos, saying that the boss is “easily the highest demand boss in the game for summon requests.” So it is the fastest way to get back into the action. After playing the fight over and over and helping people out, he “started to really like the boss even more than I already did. Fighting the Orphan was so, so much [fun]. I started to get good, and I liked the feeling of helping people out.”

Interestingly, Noahman tells the outlet that this was his first FromSoftware game.

For Noahman, who mostly played on the weekends and Fridays, multiplayer summoning in Bloodborne was the perfect way to interact with other people. “The relationship between Summoner and Cooperator is like two ships passing in the night. Except in this instance, I’d help the ship get to port safely and be on my way.” The dedicated player tells the outlet he has helped anywhere between 5,000 to 6,000 hunters defeat Kos over the last decade or so.

As for why he stopped, Noahman explained in a follow-up post on Reddit that he was only paying for PlayStation Plus to help people defeat this one boss in Bloodborne. And now that he rarely gets summoned, he can’t “justify” paying for it anymore. “I’m basically paying to sit in a cave and not get summoned,” said Noahman. Maybe he’ll return for that remake that is totally happening one day…probably. Maybe.
