Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Getting A Limited Run Physical Complete Edition

Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Getting A Limited Run Physical Complete Edition

Released in 2019, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night quickly became one of the best metroidvanias in modern history. Offering a vibrant art style, a fluid combat system, and even voiced cutscenes, Bloodstained brought plenty of flair to the standard metroidvania gameplay loop. And now, over five years later, Bloodstained is getting a new release from Limited Run Games. Preorders are officially open for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Complete Edition, which is available in two different formats (one of which is packed full of collectible content). You’ll need to check it out soon, however, as preorders will close on March 29.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Complete Edition (Standard)

$40 | Release Date TBA

This physical version of Bloodstained is available for Switch, PS4, or Xbox. And as the Complete Edition, you’ll get access to the following DLC:

  • IGA’s Back Pack DLC
  • Succubus Cosmetic Pack DLC
  • Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack
  • Japanesque Cosmetic Pack DLC
  • Classic II: Dominique’s Curse DLC

You’ll also get a tiny booklet, though no other collectibles are included with this standard version. For that, you’ll want to jump up to the Classic Edition.

This version of Bloodstained includes the same DLC content as above, though it also gets you a slew of collectibles. The coolest items might be the classic silver box with metallic ink, which pairs with a retro-styled dust sleeve. Here’s a full look at what your extra $30 unlocks:

  • Classic Silver Box with Metallic Ink
  • Retro-Styled Dust Sleeve
  • Original CD Soundtrack
  • Double-Sided Poster

Remember: Limited Run Games will close preorders on March 29. So while there isn’t yet a firm release date for the games, you’ll need to lock in your reservation before preorders close.

Our Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night review gave it an 8/10, noting its brilliant level design, quirky sense of humor, and a combat system that’s highly flexible (and rewarding).

“This isn’t a bold modernization of the genre or a departure from its roots,” wrote critic Steve Watts. “It is exactly what it set out to be: a return to the style of a bygone era, with a few modern improvements. Its perception was always going to be affected by how well it invoked the feeling of a classic Castlevania game, but Bloodstained does that and better. With more flexible combat and level design that always beckons to check just one more room, Bloodstained shows that a modern Metroidvania can stand alongside its predecessors as an equal.”

If you don’t need all these collectible goodies, you’ll find Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on PC at Fanatical for $40. Physical copies for PS4, Switch, and Xbox are available on Amazon for cheap–though these are sold by third-party vendors, not Amazon directly.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
