Adrian has been writing, critiquing, and thinking about games since he first picked up an N64 controller many years ago. These days he writes reviews, news, and features for Game Rant and believes games should be held to the same artistic standards as books, movies, and television shows. When he’s not writing for Game Rant, Adrian writes even more reviews for Sirus Gaming and likes to get nerdy about tech and retro games at HackerNoon. Outside the gaming world, he spends plenty of time enjoying movies or listening to every genre of music under the sun. Follow him on Twitter for nonsense tweets likely related to Dragon Ball Z, or check out Breadhouse Records for some tunes.
Wardogs on Steam is already a huge success, attracting hundreds of thousands of players and becoming one of the platform’s biggest new FPS releases almost immediately after launch. Steam users can currently jump into Wardogs through Early Access, where as many as 100 players can compete across large-scale, destructible battlefields.
Wardogs Is Off to a Massive Start on Steam
The early response to Wardogs has been enormous, with the official Twitter account stating that 1.25 million copies have already been sold. Steam charts currently show that Wardogs reached an all-time peak of 340,171 concurrent players on September 11, barely a day after entering Early Access, while more than 308,000 players were still in-game when the figures were checked. The shooter has also climbed to number 1 among Steam’s top sellers and number 7 in daily active users, while attracting more than 165,000 followers and 29,000 reviews. Its launch has also generated substantial interest outside the game, with Twitch viewership peaking at more than 348,000 viewers. Taken together, the numbers suggest Wardogs is one of the biggest new multiplayer launches on Steam in 2026.
