Burger King Enters CEO Burger Wars Following McDonald’s Video

Burger King Enters CEO Burger Wars Following McDonald’s Video

Last week, the CEO of McDonald’s became the main character on the internet after he took a tiny bite of his fast food company’s latest “product.” And because it is 2026 and everybody is desperate to ride the algorithm, Burger King posted a video of its CEO taking a big bite of a burger. Begun the CEO burger chomping wars have.

Weeks ago, McDonald’s CEO, chairman, and Instagram content creator Chris Kempczinski posted a video of himself eating the fast food chain’s latest creation: The Big Arch burger. It’s big. It has a lot of sauce on it. And Kempczinski, who refers to himself online as Chris K, took a very tiny bite of the Big Arch burger and didn’t seem to enjoy it. This clip eventually went viral on TikTok and elsewhere, and people began dunking on the CEO, his tiny bite, and the quality of McDonald’s burgers, and then discourse happened about the discourse, etc. You know this song and dance. Now, Burger King has responded because…I guess this is the world we live in.

On March 4, the official Burger King TikTok account posted an older clip of Burger King president Tom Curtis taking a large chomp of a Whopper. After eating the burger, the CEO says the only thing it needs is a napkin as he wipes off some sauce from his face. Shots fucking fired.

But wait. Not to be outdone, Wendy’s US president, Pete Suerken, shared a video online of himself eating a burger from his fast food chain. But in his video, not only does he take a big bite, he apparently eats the entire burger. He then tops it off with a fry dipped into a milkshake. (Though this seems to have happened before he took his later bites, as I spotted the burger in the shot.)

The thing is, McDonald’s has already leaned into the memes and jokes. On the same day Burger King posted its video and before Wendy’s jumped in, the official McDonald’s account on Twitter posted an image of the Big Arch burger with the caption: “Take a bite of our new product.” This is a direct reference to one of the most quoted bits of the original viral clip, where Chris K says he “loves this product” while tapping its cardboard shell. Buffalo Wild Wings and other food joints also got in on the memes.

All of this led to people using the term “burgermogging” online.

“Can’t believe the Burger King CEO just burgermogged the McDonald’s CEO with more aura than any corporate moid has ever had. bro is frame dominant with a Whopper. it’s over for the golden arches,” posted Alex Cohen online in a tweet with over 30,000 likes. Imagine explaining that post to someone from like 10 years ago. Good luck.

Anyway, I now await the videos of the CEOs of Arbys, Whataburger, and Freddy’s eating hamburgers in front of a camera in some grim attempt to rebuild the monoculture we lost many, many years ago. The burger-chomping CEO war is just heating up. There is so much left to milk from this rare moment in which more then 10 percent of the internet is focused on the same thing.
