Halo: Campaign Evolved‘s $200 Collector’s Edition is sold out, but there is hope for a restock. Halo: Campaign Evolved is the second remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, the flagship game of the OG Xbox. Halo: Campaign Evolved doesn’t feature Halo‘s iconic multiplayer mode, but it does breathe new life into the story campaign with significantly upgraded graphics and even some brand-new content.
The recent Xbox Games Showcase event featured a new trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved that showed off its graphics and three new story missions. Halo: Campaign Evolved‘s new story missions will serve as a prequel to the original game’s story, set about one year before the start of Combat Evolved. While there are some fans disappointed at the lack of multiplayer, there are many others hyped to experience brand-new Halo story content, and those individuals may even be excited enough to spring for the expensive $199.99 Collector’s Edition.

It seems many Halo fans were impressed enough with the Collector’s Edition that they rushed to pre-order it, as it has completely sold out. Despite the high $199.99 price tag, there was significant demand for Halo: Campaign Evolved‘s Collector’s Edition, but there is some hope for those that missed out on pre-ordering. Campaign Evolved‘s Xbox Store page lets you sign up for notifications in the event of a restock. This isn’t a guarantee that the Collector’s Edition will be restocked, but it is at least hope that a restock will happen.
Hype is high for Halo: Campaign Evolved, with nostalgic fans of the franchise excited to revisit the game that started it all. Others may be more concerned about what the future of Halo looks like, and while we don’t have an official reveal just yet, it’s an open secret that a brand-new main series entry is actively in development. With the next-generation Project Helix console right around the corner, it’s possible that the next Halo will be looking to release as an exclusive for that platform, but it’s also possible it will be a cross-gen release ala Halo Infinite.

While it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the Halo franchise, Campaign Evolved should keep fans busy in the meantime. Those needing to have their Halo multiplayer itch scratched can pop in The Master Chief Collection or Halo Infinite after they’ve had their fill of Campaign Evolved.
