Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has reportedly vowed that Project Helix will be a “great console,” but also not the be-all and end-all of Microsoft’s next-gen hardware plans. While her comments were largely aimed at reassuring employees that the company’s embattled gaming vision isn’t going anywhere, they also provided a clearer picture of how exactly the next-gen Xbox console lineup will look.
Microsoft formally detailed Project Helix earlier in 2026, describing its Series X/S successor as a custom AMD-powered system designed to play both Xbox console and PC games.

Sharma recently offered some additional clues about Microsoft’s plans to employees, Windows Central reports, citing a transcript of an internal Xbox town hall from early October 2026. During the gathering, the executive is said to have described “Gen-10” as a “family of devices,” stressing that Microsoft will “certainly have a great console first” while pursuing a broader hardware strategy designed around different ways people play.
