Clash Of Clans Confuses Players With New Feet Pic Item

Clash of Clans, the 2012 city-builder strategy game from Supercell, has resorted to selling the microtransaction equivalent of feet pics. The in-game decorations, which function as ceramic planters, depict the Barbarian character’s feet. They cost $2 each. No one seems to quite know why Supercell is doing it.

“The Foot Tribute Bundle is now live. Cast in perfect detail, bare and unapologetically regal,” reads the game’s new viral tweet. “A decadent indulgence for the truly refined. Judgment fades, elegance lingers.” What might seem like just a social media stunt has instead arrived weeks after April Fool’s day alongside an actual update to the in-game shop. Buy six stone feet and Supercell will even throw an extra one in for free.

Save this one too. Hopefully, no one else will ever have to see it again. pic.twitter.com/MKTlWpzLH4

You might think that this is playing off of some longstanding foot fetish meme within the broader Clash of Clans community, but a perusal of the community’s subreddit via TheGamer yields little insight beyond a single post from seven months ago ranking all of the Archer Queens’ feet. “Can anyone tell me what this TRIBUTE FOOT BUNDLE supposed to do?” wrote one player in a thread this week. The packs briefly left the store at one point before returning earlier today.

“I bought 4 of the bundles fortunately before they took it away. My base is loaded with them now,” wrote CloudStrife012.

Some players are calling it a desperate attempt at gooner bait. Others are asking for summer swimsuit skins a la Marvel Rivals. Still others just want to see the sales stats to know who actually paid for the feet. Kudos to Supercell for pushing the concept of horse armor to new heights.
