The collaboration between Cookie Run: Kingdom and KPop Demon Hunters has officially launched. What at first glance seems like an unusual crossover between a game about cute pastries and a movie centered around K-Pop music makes much more sense after taking into account the fact that the developers of Cookie Run: Kingdom, Devsisters, are based in South Korea. The collaboration between its game and the two-time Oscar-winning film thus serves not only to promote both productions, but also provides an opportunity to highlight the Korean influences and elements that Devsisters has incorporated into its strategy RPG.
However, the collaboration with KPop Demon Hunters is not the first time the game has teamed up with the world of K-Pop. Among the Cookie Run: Kingdom crossovers that featured well-known brands and games, there was also an event dedicated to BTS, during which players could unlock the band members as special-class playable cookies. Large-scale collaborations have become something fans of the game eagerly anticipate with every new update, as they usually come with more rewards and special items that players can only obtain for a limited time.

Cookie Run: Kingdom Crossover With Kpop Demon Hunters
The collaboration between Cookie Run: Kingdom and KPop Demon Hunters has already begun, as announced in a post on the game’s official Twitter account. The announcement also mentioned a special limited-time event called “Decorate Your Kingdom,” during which, from April 15 to April 22, players can submit screenshots of their embellished Kingdoms. From all the entries, 20 winners will be selected to receive KPop Demon Hunters Collab Merch, as well as 3,000 Cookie Run: Kingdom Crystals and 1,500 Rainbow Cubes. The winners are scheduled to be announced on April 27.
The contest is just one part of the overall collaboration, which also features characters from the hit movie in the game. Members of Huntrix have been transformed into playable Cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom, and they’ve been joined by other characters such as the Saja Boys, Derpy, and Sussie. In addition, special episodes and new in-game content have been released, bringing the story from the animated film into the game world and allowing players to experience the reimagined narrative firsthand.
The event trailer also sparked a lot of discussion among Cookie Run: Kingdom fans, who actively shared their thoughts on the storyline created specifically for this event and how it fits into the game’s universe. Many of them have noted the significant role played by Dark Cocoa Cookie, who, in the original game, is associated with a Kingdom heavily influenced by Korean culture. Some commenters also noted that his inclusion in the battle against the demons fits seamlessly into the game’s storyline, while also adding to the character’s appeal.
Fit the 9 games into the grid.
With the announcement of a sequel to KPop Demon Hunters, as well as the continuation of the Cookie Run: Kingdom storyline through upcoming updates, fans of both titles can look forward to seeing their beloved universes further expanded. Although collaborations like this one aren’t part of the official canon, they do allow for unique pairings and provide surprises for their communities. Since this isn’t the first major crossover Devsisters’ game has featured, players can expect to see more well-known names appear in connection with their game. It also remains to be seen whether K-Pop fans who play Cookie Run: Kingdom will have more opportunities to see their idols as Cookies in the future.
