Crimson Desert Players Figure Out Creative Way to Cook Meat

Crimson Desert Players Figure Out Creative Way to Cook Meat

Crimson Desert players have discovered and shared a unique way to cook meat while out in the world, even if they may be further away from a more traditional method such as a camp fire. Despite a number of mixed reviews, Crimson Desert has become a huge hit for developer, Pearl Abyss. Thanks to plenty of pre-launch anticipation, Crimson Desert has passed milestone after milestone, reaching 3 million copies sold in just a week as Pearl Abyss continues to release new updates and patches to continue improving the experience.

The appeal, for many players, centers around Crimson Desert‘s massive open world, allowing players to explore at their leisure. In fact, players also get access to a number of abilities and skills, some of which could even be compared to Nintendo’s hit open world title, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One could make comparisons regarding Crimson Desert‘s Axiom Force ability to Tears of the Kingdom‘s Ultrahand, or even using stamina to climb or glide across the land. There are plenty of mechanics, controls, and systems that are in the game, which undoubtedly has turned some players off over the increased complexity of it all, especially early on in the experience.

Crimson Desert Alternative Cooking Methods

However, when all of these mechanics and systems come together, players can get really creative and experiment with how they play Crimson Desert. Take, for example, a Reddit user named Jec1027, who posted a short video of a new discovery they made out in the wild. Placing a variety of meats on the ground, Jec1027 uses the Blinding Flash technique to reflect a beam of sunlight that essentially cooks the food it hits. Initially dropping “lean meat” on the ground, the Blinding Flash cooks the food as, once the ability is used, the look of the food changes and the description now says things like “Grilled Meat” and “Grilled Bird Meat.”

Comments regarding the discovery have been positive, with many being impressed by the level of freedom that Crimson Desert offers players. Some remain impressed by how much the game doesn’t tell players, pushing them to experiment with the systems available, while others are surprised by how good the meat actually looks in the game. There’s even another person who was surprised at this level of detail, and how developer Pearl Abyss missed something more simple, such as adding storage options for Crimson Desert players at launch. Some commenters provided another pro-tip for using Blinding Flash, as it’s also capable of burning plants and shrubbery, a handy tool for those lacking in fire arrows.

Cooking aside, Blinding Flash in Crimson Desert has a multitude of uses. Once acquired, players can use the technique to highlight points of interest within the world, regardless if the area was previously explored. Players can head to a tall point on the map and use the technique to highlight notable points, including unlocking Abyss Nexuses. Alternatively, Blinding Flash can be used in combat to temporarily blind enemies, which certainly helps during fights with groups. Eventually, players can also unlock a finisher skill for Blinding Flash that allows a barrage of strikes against the blinded target.

While players continue to learn and discover as they play through Crimson Desert, feedback remains a huge element for Pearl Abyss. The studio continues to make changes to the experience based on the player experience. A recent Crimson Dersert update continued to tweak the game’s controls, which has been a sticking point for many players over how complex they are. In addition, the update also added 5 new mounts, ranging from legendary types like the White Bear, to new boss mounts including the Rock Tusk Warthog.
