Pearl Abyss reveals its DLC roadmap plans for Crimson Desert over the next few months, including major quality of life improvements, new content, as well as a major expansion tease. After launching in March, Crimson Desert has been massively successful for developer Pearl Abyss. As part of that success has been the support Pearl Abyss has shown the game, targeting the biggest issues and wants that its community of players have requested.

The reveal likely surprised many fans as Pearl Abyss has previously stated that it purposely avoided creating a roadmap for Crimson Desert and instead chose to react to the community. Instead of being forced to stick to set-in-stone dates for features the studio presumed its players wanted, the studio utilized a different strategy made up of player feedback and observing how they played the game. In turn, that allowed the developers to focus on what the community wanted most, leading to a variety of updates that focused on the biggest issues and community wants. Now that the game has been out for a few months and most major issues have been resolved, Pearl Abyss is taking a new strategy.

Crimson Desert June-September 2026 Roadmap Plans

With June 2026 finally here, Pearl Abyss announced its plans for Crimson Desert over the next few months. While the studio has already addressed some of the biggest concerns with Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss is planning to slow the amount of updates it releases, rolling them out “gradually” over the next few months. While the studio indicated that player feedback continues to be a big piece of these patches, they’re intended to be enjoyable for both veteran players and those new to the game.

Specifically, updates over the next few months will continue to tackle some of the bigger feedback points the studio has received from players. While many have fallen in love with Crimson Desert‘s open world and the wealth of gameplay options, the overall narrative has seemingly been a low point. As such, Pearl Abyss is planning to strengthen the story of Kliff’s journey by refining and improving the “coherence of key scenes.”

Alongside story improvements, Pearl Abyss also indicated that it intends to add a Cross-Save feature to allow players to move their journey to different platforms without having to start over. The blog also teased new combat-specific content as well as further improvements to non-combat activities like farming and trading. The next phase of Crimson Desert‘s Re-blockade feature is also on the way, including new rewards, a better flow, and more ways to defend strongholds from invasions. Finally, Damiane and Oongka are going to see additional improvements to their gameplay to help them align better with Kliff.

Finally, Pearl Abyss did reconfirm development work on an upcoming expansion for Crimson Desert. Almost no details were shared in the blog, but Pearl Abyss did mention that the studio is currently in active development on DLC for Crimson Desert that will be a meaningful addition to the game. The studio is planning to share more details in the future, asking players to stay tuned for now.
