Crimson Desert Update 1.08 is Another Big One, and It’s Out Now

Pearl Abyss has released another sizable update for Crimson Desert, further improving the overall game experience and adding more content for players to check out. One of the more impressive aspects of Crimson Desert has been the almost weekly updates it has been getting from Pearl Abyss. These patches typically range in size, but so far, they’ve managed to impress many due to the fact that the studio addresses some of the bigger issues with the game, while continuing to add new content.

While the rapid support has been very impressive, it seems to have been part of the plan Pearl Abyss had for how it wanted to handle Crimson Desert post-launch. Instead of issuing a roadmap of content, Pearl Abyss instead opted to collect feedback and watch how players were interacting with the game. As a result, the studio discovered what fans wanted most and could quickly pivot towards making new improvements or adding new features that were highly requested from fans. With many of the big pain points now dealt with, the game has continued to flourish, and it doesn’t appear that Pearl Abyss has any intentions of slowing down.

Crimson Desert Releases New Update Targeted at Boss Fights

Pearl Abyss continues its streak of releasing major new updates for Crimson Desert with this latest patch adding more content and expanding rematch.

The latest major patch is now available to download for Crimson Desert and, as expected, it adds some new content and features, while also continuing to fix various bugs and other issues. First up is a new tool slot, allowing Crimson Desert players to equip tools in a separate slot, rather than the secondary weapon slot. The tool slot is right below the secondary weapon and supports the logging axe, mallet, shovel, broom, scythe, pickaxe, drill/chainsaw, and fan.

The next big piece of this update is the arrival of Ponds to Howling Hill and Pailune Camp. Players will find a new pond construction mission available to get started. Instead of just being visual eye candy, players can release fish from their inventory into the pond or through the Pond Management Mode. Having multiple fish of the same species will also gradually increase the pond’s population, and players can use a Zoom option to observe the registered fish. Keep in mind that if the number of fish exceeds the pond’s limit, fish may die, so players will have to manage things a bit. However, legendary fish will always remain regardless of the pond population, though only 1 can be registered at a time.

ALongside those big features, the patch also adds a handful of smaller updates. First, there are more pets available to register, including a baby wyvern in Crimson Desert. It’s worth noting that these baby wyverns will be able to grow and be registered as a mount in a future update as well. Kilff has access to muskets and shotguns, Damiane and Oongka now have a skill similar to Kliff’s Focused Aerial Roll, players can silence tied up outlaws, and much more.

It’s clear that players have resonated with the consistent updates and the efforts to address many of the bigger issues fans had with the launch version of the game. However, there has been a consistent question about what else Pearl Abyss is planning for Crimson Desert. As it turns out, Crimson Desert is getting DLC, though the studio won’t be announcing anything until “concrete plans” are set. The announcement came alongside positive financial results as the game brought in about $178.8 million with sales evenly split between consoles and PC.
