Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 Has an Official Release Date

Netflix has just confirmed that Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will air in Fall 2026. It’s currently unclear exactly when in Fall Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will release, but that window typically means a launch sometime between the middle of September and early December.

Released on September 13, 2022, the first season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners followed David Martinez, a street kid who quickly falls into a life of crime. With strong character relationships at its core, a vibrant art style, and excellent world-building and writing, Cyberpunk Edgerunners became an overnight sensation, so much so that it’s often credited with giving Cyberpunk 2077 a major second wind, pushing the game to sell over 20 million copies.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 Will Release in Fall 2026

Announced by Netflix and CD Projekt Red via separate Twitter posts, Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will officially air in Fall 2026. Netflix’s announcement post came with the simple tagline, “New crew. Same chaos. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming this fall. Only on Netflix.” The second season of the animated adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s now-acclaimed action-RPG was announced back in July 2025 alongside a brief trailer that teased a new set of characters.

A total of four brand-new characters have been confirmed so far for Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2. These characters are Weak Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner who “lives in the shadow of his former glory,” Roman Carax, a young cinephile who’s obsessed with documenting the lives of others, Talia Yang, a woman with a corpo upbringing but a desire for a life of crime, and D, a Snake Nation netrunner who’s on a path of revenge. These are the four core characters who appear on the newly released Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 poster.

Over on YouTube, a Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 teaser trailer has appeared on the official Cyberpunk 2077 channel. This second teaser trailer will premiere on Monday, June 29 at 11:30am ET. The description of this upcoming trailer sheds a bit more light on what fans can expect from the next season of the lauded series. Season 2 is confirmed to be another standalone story where a fresh cast of characters is thrown into a “lawless and unforgiving” world. According to the trailer’s official description, this season will show Night City “at its most brutal.” Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 is being directed by Kai Ikarashi, with Kanno Ichigo as the season’s lead designer, and Bartosz Sztybor acting as showrunner, writer, and producer.

As well as a new trailer, Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will also appear at Anime Expo this week. On July 3, key members of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 creative team will attend a panel dedicated to pulling back the curtain on the show’s long-awaited second season. Fans can probably expect to hear a few new pieces of information following the panel’s conclusion.
