Dead by Daylight‘s popular 2v8 mode is coming back in late April 2026 alongside the return of Attack on Titan crossover content. Per the usual, the special 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight will only be available to play for a few weeks, but players should be able to dive back into it starting on April 28.

A standard game of Dead by Daylight is held with five players, with four assuming the roles of Survivors who are trying to operate generators to escape the Trial Grounds and one becoming the Killer who is out to stop them by any means necessary. The first instance of a 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight, which features two Killers hunting down eight Survivors, was held in July 2024, and the double-sized game mode has proven itself popular with fans each time the team at Behaviour Interactive has brought it back for a limited time.

Dead by Daylight 2v8 Mode Availability Dates

Fans can get ready for another three weeks of 2v8 action, as the development team has announced that another session will be held from April 28 through May 19, 2026. In addition to the limited-time return of the special game mode, players can also expect a second revival, with another round of crossover content featuring anime masterpiece Attack on Titan. The game and the anime first collided in 2022, and a fresh round of content is soon to be back by popular demand, featuring special quest rewards that include a banner, badge, and charm.

Behaviour Interactive has changed the rules of Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 mode each time it has been introduced, seeking to constantly refine its gameplay. This latest round should be no exception, as a couple of the game’s popular Killers are set for a fresh round of buffs and nerfs, which are being implemented based on feedback from players. The Deathslinger will have fewer penalties for reloading and missing shots, while The Oni will get a little easier for Survivors to handle, receiving an uptime reduction after he downs a survivor while engaged in Demon Mode. In addition, the Temple of Purgation and Ironworks of Misery have been added to the map rotation and modified to support 2v8 matches.

Additionally, this next round of 2v8 matches will see the incorporation of changes to the Cage System, giving Dead by Daylight‘s Survivor players an advantage over the old model. Cage relocation time is being reduced, with the development team encouraging greater teamwork in rescue operations while trying to keep matches evenly paced. When a cage does relocate, it will be accompanied by a brief pause in the bleed-out timer, which should give the other Survivors a little more time to formulate their strategies on the fly.
