Destiny 2’s Monument of Triumph Update Changed Nothing At Bungie, Layoffs Weeks Away

Game journalist Paul Tassi shared a video on his YouTube channel after speaking to Bungie staff, stating that despite Destiny 2‘s Monument of Triumph update’s success, the game is still ending service with layoffs to follow. The fact that there would be layoffs at Bungie has been said repeatedly over the past few weeks, including in a report by Jason Schreier. However, a new source in the form of journalist Sylvain Trinel stated that Bungie is to cut its workforce by 50% in the coming weeks. Tassi’s connections, when asked if the great sales and reception of the update did anything, simply said “no.” As such, it seems that Destiny 2‘s final update is indeed final, and there is no going back.
