Destiny 2 Has a New Armor Farming Glitch For Easy T5 Meta Sets

A Destiny 2 player finds a farming method to consistently get Tier 5 armor pieces from some of the best sets in the game, and it takes minutes. Destiny 2‘s armor system has changed dramatically over time, and with set bonuses, players have all the more reasons to get armor pieces with good stats and from specific sets. This is sometimes easier said than done, especially for some armor sets. For example, Luminopotent and Triumphal Anthem come from Vanguard and Crucible activities, and they can even be obtained for free from Zavala.

In order to get the Bushido armor set in Destiny 2, players can currently grab T5 pieces from Xur in the Tower, and next week should be the turn of the Swordmaster set. Most other sets can be difficult to get, though. There are several sets exclusive to Raids and Dungeons, and they can be hard to obtain for solo players. Even then, they can be tricky to farm with good stats, as the Ghost Shell mods do not always work, and when they do, the third stat is still random.

Destiny 2: All Armor Set Bonuses (Monuments of Triumph Update)

Armor 3.0 and Monuments of Triumph have reworked every armor set in Destiny 2 to hold unique and powerful perks. Here’s where to get all of them.

Destiny 2 Players Can Get Ferropotent and Smoke Jumper Tier 5 Armor In Under a Minute

A Destiny 2 player by the name of valiendra_ shared a post on Twitter stating that they discovered a glitch that allows players to get unintended T5 armor pieces. Completing Master Lost Sectors awards players with guaranteed T5 armor sets of the corresponding location, but if players’ Engram inventory (comprising Bright Engrams and Exotic Engrams) is full, these drops are sent to the Postmaster in the Tower as unopened Engrams. However, opening the Engrams in the Tower awards armor pieces from the Smoke Jumper, Ferropotent, and Techsec armor sets instead. This works for all Master Lost Sectors, and players will always get Destiny 2‘s Ferropotent armor, Smoke Jumper armor, or Techsech armor, never that from the original location.

Exotic Engrams are also awarded at the end of Master Lost Sectors, occasionally, so players can fill their inventory very quickly. This is particularly useful because both Ferropotent and Smoke Jumper are some of the best armor sets bonuses in Destiny 2 when used in their respective 2-piece variants, as they provide great value with damage reduction. This is hard to come by, and all three sets, including Techsec, are much harder to come by because they require Vanguard Engrams.

The post was shared under the impression that the game wouldn’t be getting major fixes. However, luckily, Destiny 2‘s Vanguard reputation gains in Monument of Triumph will be addressed in the upcoming hotfix next week, on July 7. This means that the sets will be easier to get than they currently are, but at the same time, this glitch will stay. Comms Manager at Bungie dmg04 shared a comment to valiendra_’s post, stating that he accidentally ran into the glitch and that it won’t be fixed.

Recently, the official Twitter account for the game shared the news that Destiny 2 is permanently disabling two armor sets as a result of the hundreds of Bungie layoffs and the game facing end-of-service with no allocated staff or resources. As unfortunate as this is, players can at least rest easy that the glitch to get Ferropotent, Smoke Jumper, and Techsec armor easily will be working forever.
