Destiny 2 is Officially Disabling Another Armor Set and Map Permanently

Destiny 2 is Officially Disabling Another Armor Set and Map Permanently

Destiny 2 is now officially disabling yet another armor set and a whole map, and they won’t be fixed. Destiny 2 is in such a state that developers don’t have the resources to allocate to the game, and most of the original team for the game has been laid off. In a Twitter post a while back, Bungie Comms Manager dmg04 stated that after the final hotfix, any major issues with abilities, armor sets, bosses, and maps may result in parts of the game being permanently disabled because there would be no dedicated personnel to fix them. Minor issues are still being tended to where possible, though.

Recently, Destiny 2 disabled the Gambit armor set due to an issue where it was allowing players to generate more ammo than intended in the Crucible, and since the issue falls into the category mentioned by dmg04 in his Bug Bar post, it won’t be fixed. The same happened to more armor sets at the start of July, with Bungie disabling the new Dungeon armor sets from Duality and Grasp of Avarice, with the former being problematic for its healing burst and the latter allowing players to spam the Glacial Quake Super and the melee ability on Stasis Titan.

Destiny 2 Officially Disables Meta Exotic Weapon in One Activity

Destiny 2 has very bad news for players farming one activity, as it’s disabling a popular Exotic weapon.

Say Goodbye to One Armor Set and Crucible Map in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 is permanently disabling the Crystocrene armor set’s 4-piece bonus in the Crucible, as well as the Crucible map Disjunction. Originally, the Destiny 2 Team account on Twitter stated that Disjunction would be removed from Iron Banner, but later followed up with another post, stating that the map had more issues attached and would then be disabled from all Crucible playlists. It remains available in private matches. As for the new armor set from Destiny 2‘s Monument of Triumph update, the 4-piece Crystocrene bonus allowed players to gain Frost Armor even out of combat, reducing damage taken. This is not intended behavior, as it should only proc out of combat.

Fans had already noticed that the Crystocrene armor set’s proc condition was not being respected, and that it would instead proc in combat, too. In fact, this makes the Crystocrene set one of the best armor set bonuses in Destiny 2, and luckily, it will still work in PVE after this change. In PVP, though, the 4-piece bonus will be permanently disabled. The Disjunction map’s fate is sad, but at the same time, it has long been controversial for structural issues and harsh PVP gameplay.

So much so that several fans asked Bungie to disable the map in all Crucible playlists after the initial tweet. While Bungie did grant this wish, it was purely due to technical issues with the map that would require a lot of work to fix. Now, for the remainder of Iron Banner, ending next week on August 4, players will no longer see the Disjunction map in playlists. Likewise, all Crucible playlists will also exclude Disjunction moving forward. Disjunction may not have been one of the best Crucible maps in Destiny 2, but it’s sad to see it go due to the game’s death.

A small silver lining is that Bungie is still addressing some issues. For example, Zavala has a weekly rotation of weapons for players to unlock and get for free. These are not always new meta Destiny 2 Legendary weapons, but they can roll with some powerful perks, and they are all Tier 5. This week, Zavala’s weapons could not be claimed, but Bungie quickly fixed this on the same day it happened.
