Destiny 2 Players Can Claim Free Deadlands Cosmetics Bundle and More From Bungie

Alongside the Monuments of Triumph Final update, Bungie releases a bunch of codes that Destiny 2 players can use to acquire a variety of free cosmetics, including the Deadlands Armor Ornament Set. It’s a bittersweet week for fans of Destiny 2, with the arrival of Bungie’s final live-service update, though fans are hoping that they can somehow save the franchise by showing up in force.

While Destiny 2 has been bleeding players over the past year, many didn’t see the end of the road coming so quickly. While the original Shadow & Order update for Destiny 2 was delayed earlier this year, many were expecting things to continue moving forward, eventually leading to the other two expansions that were previously announced. However, instead of pushing everything back, Sony appears to have felt that it wasn’t worth saving and opted to have Bungie pull the plug on Destiny 2 so it could focus on Marathon. The news sent the fanbase into a frenzy of emotion with the realization that the franchise is now likely in danger.

However, Bungie has ensured that if this is the end of the road for Destiny, it’ll go out with a bang. In addition to the absolutely massive Monuments of Triumph update for Destiny 2, which appears to have pulled in as much content as was in development at the studio, Bungie is also releasing cosmetic items that players can download for absolutely free. There are 8 things that can be claimed, including armor ornament sets for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, alongside other cosmetic items.

In order to claim these items, players will need to go to Bungie.net and sign in to their account through various means, connecting to their platform account, Twitch sign-in, or a Bungie account. Once signed in to the website, players will then need to select redeem under their account profile or select each code from the page to automatically have it applied.

The new cosmetics are really only the tip of the iceberg as Bungie has packed the Monument of Triumph update with new cosmetics, weapons, and other things that can be earned. With over 200 challenges to unlock, Bungie is hoping this final event will keep players logging in for a long time, unlocking Legendary Marks that can be exchanged for tons of items. Not only that, the final Destiny 2 update has added additional content, many quality of life improvements, and things to do, including Pantheon 2.0 and the highly requested return of the Sparrow Racing League.

The news of Destiny 2 ending has caused many to share their feelings about the series as a whole, from the various actors, former Bungie employees, as well as other game studios. Many fans haven’t accepted that this could be the end of the road for the series and the community as a whole has attempted to show Sony how important the franchise is. A Destiny 3 petition has continued to gain momentum, fans were spamming the PlayStation State of Play with Destiny icons and messages of wanting a third game, and now, with the launch of the final update, Destiny 2‘s player numbers have exploded once again. It’s unknown if any of these demonstrations will move Sony, but fans remain hopeful.
