Destiny 2 players can currently get one of the best weapons in the game with a god roll that is no longer obtainable, but they only have until September 1 to do so. Destiny 2 is in a strange state, as Bungie no longer has a dedicated team, nor is it actually funding development of the game, even for things like hotfixes and bug correction, but the servers remain online. The game is playable, but it will no longer get updates or new content, though it keeps its cycle of weekly vendor refreshes.
Recently, Destiny 2 Project Sunrise shared plans for playable content vault missions after a successful launch of the base exploration mod that allows Guardians to go back to locations that are no longer in the game. Still, this is a free fan-made mod rather than an official release, and it doesn’t allow players to use their characters and weapons because it works with a previous build of the game from the Shadowkeep era. For those who are still playing after the Monument of Triumph update, there is a powerful weapon to pick up in the game at the moment, but it will be gone soon.
Destiny 2 Has a Free Mint Retrograde God Roll With a Rare Perk
Destiny 2 players can get a powerful roll of Tier 5 Mint Retrograde from Zavala with the Slice perk, which is not available on the modern iteration of the gun and only comes from previous, currently unobtainable versions. As customary, Zavala sells five different rolls for players to get, and one roll is completely free if Guardians have been playing the previous week; otherwise, it can cost Chronologs or Bright Dust to unlock. This week, Zavala is selling the previous version of T5 Mint Retrograde, and three different rolls come with Slice in the fourth column. The best roll is arguably the fifth, though both the third and the fourth have their merits. Destiny 2‘s Mint Retrograde god roll is different now, with some perks gone and others added over time, but Slice is one of the best perks in the endgame due to its ability to reduce targets’ damage output.

The third roll comes with Flared Magwell, then Rewind Rounds, Hatchling, and Envious Arsenal in the third column, and Slice, Master at Arms, and One for All in the fourth column. The fifth roll has Volatile Launch in the first column, then Beacon Rounds, Recycled Energy, and Envious Arsenal in the third column, and finally Bait and Switch, Slice, and One for All in the fourth column. The fourth roll is similar to the fifth, with the main difference being that it has Elemental Honing in place of Bait and Switch. Bait and Switch is better than Elemental Honing in Destiny 2 for most builds, though the latter can be stronger in some scenarios. While these rolls lack the popular Rewind Rounds in the third column, Envious Arsenal is still S-tier, and having Slice can be a massive boon for harder endgame content.
There is a Destiny 2 glitch for infinite ammo in endgame content that arguably trivializes it, especially where ammo is limited via Famine modifiers or players start with no Special and Heavy ammo. Slice is vital in endgame content outside of boss DPS because it applies Severed to enemies, making them deal less damage.
With Special ammo pulse rifles having AoE damage, Slice applies to all targets in the area, making it exceptional even in crowded rooms filled with enemies. Some Destiny 2 weapons are worth keeping even off meta, but Mint Retrograde is already a valid meta option, and these old rolls give it access to Slice without giving up the boons of Tier 5.
