The Worlds First raid race for Salvation’s Edge in Destiny 2 has come to an end, seeing Team Parabellum come out victorious and unlocking a unique new mission for all players to take part in. It’s been a busy week so far for Destiny 2 players after the highly anticipated Final Shape expansion finally arrived. Players jumped into an all-new storyline, seeing them enter the Traveler to stop the plans of The Witness, who intends to twist the world into a nightmare.
A whole new wealth of content waited for players, including a new arsenal of weapons, exotics, armor, as well as the highly customizable Prismatic subclass, a first for Destiny 2. As players went through the campaign, many were attempting to gear up for the coming raid known as Salvation’s Edge, an event that would herald another World’s First race to see which Fireteam could come out on top. Prior to the launch of The Final Shape and its accompanying raid, Salvation’s Edge, Bungie teased that more content would be coming to the game once the World’s First race was concluded. As it turns out, players now have more to do in-game.

Destiny 2 Quickly Addressing Popular Resource Farming Method
Bungie announces plans to address a recently discovered method of farming an “infinite” number of enhancement cores in Destiny 2.
At 1pm ET, the World’s First race for Salvation’s Edge kicked off, pitting fireteams all over against one another to see who could overcome the puzzles, challenges, and bosses first. As many in the Destiny 2 community looked on, it was ultimately Team Parabellum who managed to take down the raid before anyone else, with a Fireteam made up of Astro, bravo, DrakathShadow, Ham, Jake, and Tyrake. As promised, the 6-person squad will now be memorialized with World First raid belts, along with gaining access to other rewards that include a jacket, sling bag, and a couple of emblems.
New Content is Added to Destiny 2 The Final Shape
However, the completion of Salvation’s Edge benefits all Destiny 2 players, as new content has been unlocked for everyone. As Bungie indicates, The Witness has retreated following the events of the raid and now, it is up to all players to finish the fight for the fate of the Sol System. Bungie announced the addition of a new activity called Excision, which can be activated from the Pale Heart destination for those who have finished the main Final Shape campaign in Destiny 2. Unlike typical PvE activities, Excision is the first-ever 12-player activity pitting players against The Witness once and for all. No other details were provided, but considering this is the final battle against the villain that has orchestrated the events of the Light and Darkness saga these past 10 years, expect it to be an epic ride.
This isn’t the first time a raid has been used to unlock additional content following the completion of a raid race. Most famously, the Last Wish World First Raid Race back in 2018, which took over 18 hours to complete, had a major impact on the Destiny 2 world. Once Riven was taken down and the completion confirmed, the 3-week curse cycle that the destination has been known for began in full, corrupted from Riven’s final wish and giving players access to new missions and events.
