Diablo 4 players are desperate for the Rogue class to get a significant buff in the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion. The current community sentiment is that Diablo 4‘s Rogue has been in great need of a power buff for a while now, and Lord of Hatred represents the perfect opportunity to finally make it a viable class again.
The Rogue was part of Diablo 4‘s roster of classes at launch, alongside the Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, and Sorcerer. When it comes to Pit leaderboards, it has never been a leading class in any season of the game, while others have taken turns to be the meta option, even for a brief period of time. Certain seasons have allowed for strong Diablo 4 Rogue builds for those who insist on playing it, but it’s far from the optimal choice.

Diablo 4 Fans Want Major Rogue Buffs For Lord of Hatred
A recent Reddit thread started by user Lilmamax raised the issue that even an endgame Diablo 4 Rogue has serious trouble with most Bloodsoaked Lair Boss Keys, which were added in Season 12 as a way to present additional challenges to players. This user has found that to complete them, they are having to join open parties with others. Others in the thread echoed the same sentiment, with one expert saying, “Knowing Rogue as well as I do, I can’t think of a single way to do the damage needed to clear blood soaked.”
The current state of the Rogue class was lamented by most in the thread, with many having already come to terms with it over the last few seasons. However, there was some hope that Blizzard will rebalance both the content of the game and the class itself in the upcoming Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion, allowing players to finally be able to clear all content using the build they want. It’s understandable that min-maxxed builds will always have an easier time clearing endgame Diablo 4 content, but it’s equally frustrating for those who don’t want to optimize every single element of their character just to be able to beat these features in the first place.
Despite the community sentiment, it’s unlikely that the Rogue comes in for particular attention at the start of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. This is because the expansion is adding a new class: the Warlock. It’s also technically adding the Paladin, but this has been available for a while now by pre-ordering the DLC. When a new class is added, it usually receives the most focus from Blizzard during its first season, and is overpowered while the developer figures out how to properly balance it for the future. As a result, players should probably expect the Warlock to be the focus of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred‘s launch. Perhaps more attention will be brought to the Rogue further down the line, but fans are almost certainly going to be kept waiting.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred launches on April 28, 2026. This is the first major expansion for the game since 2024’s Vessel of Hatred, which introduced the Spiritborn class. While Blizzard may have missed its goal of yearly Diablo 4 expansions, fans will be hoping the upcoming DLC is worth the wait. With an entirely new questline and two new classes, it’s shaping up to be an exciting period for fans.
