Season 15 of Diablo 4 has been marked by a number of launch issues, specifically server issues and an unexpected delay, though Blizzard is making it up to players with a very rare crafting material for free. There’s been plenty of excitement in the community over the past few weeks, thanks in large part to the announcements at BlizzCon alongside the start of a brand new Diablo 4 season.
While BlizzCon itself had plenty to say about the franchise, including announcing Diablo 5 alongside some early details on the 2029 title, Blizzard also revealed a celebratory Season 15. Known as the Season of Hell’s Legacy, it serves as a celebration of the franchise’s 30 years with a seasonal quest line that looks back across the history of all the games, adding nine legacy unique items, and bringing back Deckard Cain. Unfortunately, the excitement was dampened slightly due to server problems, issues with Tree of WHispers reward caches, and a slight delay to the start of the season. While Blizzard has since fixed the problems, the company is making good with players by sending a very rare token of appreciation.
Diablo 4 Giving Out Resplendent Sparks
Over the past few days, players have noticed a new bit of in-game mail waiting for them in the Horadric Post in any major town inside Diablo 4. While not officially announced by Blizzard, players have been getting a note from Blizzard that not only apologized for the rocky start to Season 15 in Diablo 4, but also gifting a free Resplendent Spark as well. Some players have reported not receiving anything as yet, though after restarting the game, the mail arrived as expected. For those that aren’t seeing it, it’s also possible that the item could be rolling out in waves, so players will want to keep checking their in-game mail over the next few days.
Resplendent Sparks in Diablo 4 are a very rare crafting material, acting also as a currency that players can utilize to exchange, along with a substantial amount of gold, under the Transmute tab to purchase an Uber Unique item like Doombringer or Harlequin Crest. What makes these items extremely rare is that to acquire them, players need to visit an Alchemist and sacrifice an Uber Unique. Considering how rare these items are in the first place, it’s not always an easy decision to sacrifice them in the first place.

However, the Resplendent Spark isn’t the only freebie available now to players. Earlier in September, players were tasked with taking down a special world boss known as Moophisto. For a limited time, Diablo 4‘s Divine Bovine challenge asked players to defeat the boss over 300,000 times and, unsurprisingly, the task was completed by the community. The reward is a special Mount Trophy known as Moomento Mori and is available to redeem for all players, regardless if they participated or not. The item is tied to Season 15, so it’s expected that once the season comes to an end, the unique trophy will disappear along with it.
However, the recent Diablo 4 announcements were a bit bitter-sweet for many as Blizzard confirmed there are no more expansions planned, as the teams transition over to Diablo 5. However, Blizzard isn’t planning on abandoning the game completely, as additional seasons are still planned and in 2027, Diablo 4 is getting the Amazon class, following in the footsteps of other post-launch class additions like the Necromancer and Warlock. As expected, the all-female class will be bringing back a number of classic builds like the “Bowazon” from Diablo 2 as well as some new options as well.
