Diablo 4 Season 15 is Finally Adding Highly Requested Feature After Three Years

Diablo 4 Season 15 is Finally Adding Highly Requested Feature After Three Years

After over three years, Diablo 4 Season 15 is finally adding a Rebirth feature, allowing players to keep their exact characters from the Eternal realm into the Seasonal. Since the launch of Diablo 4, this has been one of the most requested features from the community, and Blizzard has finally delivered in the upcoming Season 15.

Any characters created during a Diablo 4 season are classed as “seasonal.” They can participate in seasonal mechanics and leaderboards specific to that season. But at the end, these characters move to Diablo 4‘s Eternal realm, where seasonal mechanics do not apply. Some feel these are more of a graveyard for characters, with seasonal being by far the more popular way to play. As a result, most players simply make a new character at the start of every season, putting their adventures with their previous character to rest. As of Diablo 4 Season 15, this will no longer be necessary.

Every Diablo Game, Ranked

The long-running Diablo series has had its fair share of highs and lows. Here’s every game in the franchise, ranked.

Diablo 4 Season 15 is Adding Rebirth Characters

Blizzard recently released the patch notes for the upcoming 3.2.0 PTR, which will test out new features coming to Diablo 4 Season 15 ahead of time. Among the new features is Rebirth, which allows players to convert their characters from the Eternal to the Seasonal realm. Rather than creating a character at the start of the season using Diablo 4‘s customization options, players can continue their adventure with a previous character, albeit starting from Level 1 all over again. This ensures that everything is exactly how it was in previous seasons, keeping the following intact:

  • Class, name, appearance, and state (Normal or Hardcore)
  • Cosmetic preferences, including transmogs and pigments, mounts and accessories, pets, portals, and headstones

It’s important to note that equipment and inventory will not carry over during the Rebirth process. This would obviously be far too overpowered, and would allow players to get the best items for their Diablo 4 class right from the start. Rebirth is more of a quality-of-life feature for players, and its presence in the upcoming 3.2.0 PTR for Season 15 is more than welcome. Players will also keep a running tally of total hours played across all of one character’s Rebirths, so they’ll know exactly how long that character has been played for in the future.

Rebirth has been a highly-requested feature for a very long time. Around the game’s launch, a Diablo 4 dev revealed Blizzard was aware of the demand for Rebirth, and it has taken over three years for it to finally be added to the game. The 3.2.0 PTR goes live on August 4 and runs until August 11, but Diablo 4 Season 15 isn’t expected to start until September 15, 2026. This early testing will give players a good idea of how the Rebirth feature will work in practice.

Diablo 4 Season 15 is massive for Blizzard to get right. Unfortunately, Season 14 was a huge disappointment for many fans, and the sentiment surrounding the game online has gotten a little toxic of late. This is despite the few seasons preceding S14 being largely well received by the community. However, there is no doubt that Season 15 has to impress players, so expectations are high for it to mark a major comeback for the game.
