Digimon Fans Have Limited Time to Claim Free Rewards

Digimon Fans Have Limited Time to Claim Free Rewards

Bandai Namco’s Digimon Up has opened pre-registrations, giving players a chance to claim free rewards for a limited time. Set to release for free on mobile in 2026, Digimon Up will give players the chance to become Digimon Tamers as they raise and train their monsters from Digi-Egg to Mega form.

Announced during the Digimon Con 2026 global broadcast last March, Digimon Up is described as a game where players can grow stronger with their partner Digimon, which are designed as 2D sprites. In a series of screenshots on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, players will be able to choose the Digimon they want to train, like Agumon and Gabumon, and upgrade their abilities via a skill tree. Battles will adopt a card system to control each Digimon’s actions against opponents.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is Getting Major DLC in the Future

Bandai Namco reveals that a major DLC expansion for Digimon Story: Time Stranger is in development, though its release is still some time away.

Digimon Up Reveals Free Pre-Registration Rewards

While Digimon Up‘s release date has yet to be revealed, it was announced on social media that players can start pre-registering via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. To make things more exciting, Digimon Up revealed free rewards that players could claim in-game once it reaches certain pre-registration goals. However, it didn’t specify if there’s a deadline to availing the pre-registration rewards. So far, Digimon Up has already achieved the 10,000 goal, which means that all players who install the game will be getting 150 Skill Card Summon Tickets. The complete list of rewards is the following:

  • 10,000 goal: 150 Skill Card Summon Tickets
  • 30,000 goal: 150 Supporter Summon Tickets
  • 50,000 goal: 1,000 DigiEmeralds
  • 100,000 goal: Free Gekkomon

Digimon Up has also started to reveal some pixel art designs of playable Digimon, such as MetalGarurumon and MetalGreymon, during the pre-registration phase. Considering that the Digimon Up Twitter and Facebook pages already have over 30,000 followers in total, the game has the potential to reach the maximum goal and perhaps even more in the coming months. Many free-to-play mobile games reach impressive numbers during the pre-registration phase, like Silent Whispers recording over a million sign-ups after its initial reveal.

The upcoming launch of Digimon Up and the success of 2025’s Digimon Story: Time Stranger are part of Bandai Namco’s commitment to develop more games in the Digimon universe. The studio is also developing Digimon Alysion, a free-to-play online card game that’s set to come out on mobile as well. Apart from games, the Digimon Beatbreak animated series has captivated fans around the world, proving the massive popularity and timelessness of the franchise since it was first introduced in 1997.

Only time will tell if Digimon Up will be able to meet players’ expectations for a free-to-play mobile game. For now, fans will have to patiently wait for more updates about the mobile game’s mechanics and full list of playable characters. Many franchises have adopted the monster battler model in unique ways, from Pokemon United‘s MOBA-style gameplay to Persona 5: The Phantom X‘s story-heavy approach. Since the franchise has great focus on the Tamers’ relationships with their partner Digimon, Digimon Up could definitely capitalize on this element and allow players to be more involved in caring for their roster, while also introducing a brand-new storyline set in the same universe.
