Marvel Cosmic Invasion developer Tribute Games has revealed its upcoming Siege of Castle Doom DLC, which will focus on Doctor Doom just a few weeks before the character’s big-screen appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. Released in 2025, Marvel Cosmic Invasion debuted with a playable cast of 15 heroes. Favorites like Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man were included in the initial roster, alongside some deeper cuts such as Cosmic Ghost Rider and Phyla-Vell.
Earlier in 2026, Marvel Cosmic Invasion added Cyclops and the Thing in the game’s first batch of DLC. Cyclops joined multiple other playable X-Men in the game, including Wolverine, Phoenix, and Storm. The Fantastic Four have seen far less representation in the game, with Benjamin J. Grimm being the first member of the team playable.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion Reveals Siege of Castle Doom Details
Debuting on November 10, Marvel Cosmic Invasion‘s Siege of Castle Doom DLC will add a new mode to the game. Castle Doomstadt is at the center of the DLC, and players will have to race through the Latverian landmark towards an encounter with Doctor Doom himself. The castle will feature a mix of new and returning enemy types, as well as new modifiers. The DLC will cost $7.99, and it will also unlock Doctor Doom and Invisible Woman in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Following the additions of the Invisible Woman and the Thing, just two members of the Fantastic Four remain missing from Marvel Cosmic Invasion: Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch. Tribute Games has not announced whether the game will receive additional content after Siege of Castle Doom, but that could depend on how the DLC sells. Marvel Cosmic Invasion was well-received upon release, with positive reviews and award nominations. However, it remains to be seen whether fans will continue to stick with the game.
Following the announcement, several fans shared requests for playable characters they would still like to see added to Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch topped many lists shared on social media, while others are still waiting to see if Deadpool will make the cut. Deadpool was finally added to Marvel Rivals earlier in 2026, and it’s hard to imagine a major Marvel game without an eventual appearance by Wade Wilson. Of course, there are countless other Marvel characters the developers could still bring in, including Thor, Gambit, Blade, and more.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, and ticket pre-sales are already breaking records more than a month ahead of time. There’s clearly a lot of anticipation, and the Siege of Castle Doom’s release should give Marvel Cosmic Invasion players something to help them pass the time while they wait. Doctor Doom made a brief cameo in last year’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, but the upcoming movie will mark the first time the character gets a major role in the MCU. Doom has long been one of the most popular villains in comics, and the character is sure to see a significant boost in mainstream appeal in the same way that Thanos once did.
