Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has received brand-new content in the form of a special Beerus and Whis loading screen illustration. The small addition marks another entry in the game’s long-running post-launch support, arriving just ahead of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2‘s tenth anniversary.
The timing is particularly interesting because Xenoverse 2 has already reached the end of its paid expansion roadmap. Future Saga Chapter 4 launched on July 8 as the game’s final DLC, bringing roughly a decade of downloadable expansions to a close. However, smaller live-service activities and rewards have continued beyond that milestone.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Gets New Beerus and Whis Content
The new Beerus and Whis artwork was quietly announced on October 13 via a brief message explaining that all players can obtain it by logging in and checking Timespace Delivery. Distribution began on a rolling basis at 1:00 AM UTC that day, with no expiration date mentioned in the announcement.

The choice of Beerus and Whis for the new loading screen is almost certainly no coincidence. The first episode of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premiered in Japan on October 11, meaning the Xenoverse 2 reward started rolling out less than two days later. The official game post directly describes Beerus and Whis as being featured “from the latest anime,” further reinforcing the obvious connection. Officially billed as an enhanced edition of Dragon Ball Super, Beerus features extensive new and redrawn cuts, re-rendered footage, newly recorded audio, and a reconstructed version of the original story.
While its connection to the new anime makes this particular giveaway timely, loading screen artwork itself is far from rare in Xenoverse 2. Weekly TP Medal Shop rotations continue to cycle through dozens of illustrations at a time, while raids and other recurring activities have also distributed them as rewards. The Future Saga Chapter 4 DLC added another eight illustrations alongside the Gallery of Time, a feature that allows players to browse more than 1,000 loading screens and other previously collected material. Bandai Namco has also repeatedly used Xenoverse 2 to reflect developments elsewhere in the Dragon Ball franchise. A November 2024 login campaign included a Beerus-and-Bulla loading-screen illustration, while the game’s Dragon Ball DAIMA crossover went considerably further in 2025 with paid and free content tied to the then-new anime. The newly introduced Beerus and Whis artwork continues that pattern, though on a markedly smaller scale.
This surprise addition thus serves as another minor indicator that Xenoverse 2 remains deeply intertwined with current Dragon Ball releases even after its paid DLC roadmap has ended. Given that state of affairs, it is plausible that more similar cosmetics may be added to the game in the near future. But that window of opportunity is not particularly long, not least because Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is scheduled for 2027. Once the threequel is out, Bandai Namco will likely bring post-launch support for Xenoverse 2 to a full close, assuming it does not do so beforehand.
