After being officially revealed at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri earlier this year in January, Dragon Ball: Age 1000 finally gets a massive update that clears up the mystery surrounding the game. The original teaser for the game gave fans little to chew on other than the fact that it had been in development for years, and that Akira Toriyama designed both the new main character and the game’s lore.
Dragon Ball Super Reveals New Anime Releasing Later This Year
2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for Dragon Ball fans, as the Dragon Ball Super anime remake confirms Frieza is coming.
For anyone familiar with Akira Toriyama’s original sequel to Dragon Ball Z, Age 1000 was a major year in Dragon Ball Online‘s timeline, suggesting that the game might be connected to the lore Toriyama wrote for DBO long before Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 has officially revealed that Age 1000 is none other than Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 and that the game will indeed be incorporating Akira Toriyama’s vision of the Dragon Ball timeline’s future.
Dragon Ball Project: Age 1000 Was Secretly Xenoverse 3 All Along
During Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, it was revealed that Akira Toriyama’s “creative vision forms the foundation of the world and story” for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Originally teased as Dragon Ball: Age 1000, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is set far into the Dragon Ball timeline’s future, featuring an all-new cast of characters, all designed by Akira Toriyama. Interestingly, there are some familiar faces. Not only does Piccolo appear in the background of the anime trailer, Gamma 1 is playing a major role in the story, alongside Bulma.
Bulma shouldn’t be alive by Age 1000, but it’s possible she’s kept using the Dragon Balls to stay young, or simply time traveled to the future. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 also revealed two new main characters, Brett and an unnamed female protagonist who will be the player character alongside the white-haired Super Saiyan revealed in the Project Age 1000 reveal teaser.
