Embark Studios CEO Teases New Games In Development

Thanks to the massive success of ARC Raiders in securing the long-term future of Embark Studios, CEO Patrick Söderlund revealed that two new games are currently in development. After making a massive pivot away from being a PvE looter shooter during development, there were many who questioned the studio’s decision for ARC Raiders to instead embrace extraction shooter gameplay. As it turns out, the decision seems to have been a good one as ARC Raiders has seen substantial success after it launched on October 30, 2025.

Since launch, ARC Raiders has followed a schedule of releasing major content once per month. November 2025 launched the North Line update, famously bringing the Stella Montis map into ARC Raiders following a community unlock event that players demolished in record time. December 2025 brought the Cold Snap update, which added the Snowfall map condition in which players would take damage for being outside in the cold for too long. With all of these changing conditions and new content to explore, ARC Raiders‘ constantly changing environment has seemingly kept players intrigued long after the game’s launch.

ARC Raiders development studio is considering ways to “escalate” ARC enemies, including making a big change to one particular enemy type.

ARC Raiders’ Success Secures Embark’s Future

In an interview with IGN, Embark Studios’ CEO Patrick Söderlund discussed all things ARC Raiders, what the team has learned and where the future could lead. While Söderlund declined to confirm the rumored $75 million budget, he did mention that the number wasn’t too far off and that overall, ARC Raiders has been very profitable for the studio. At a time when the games industry is seeing a rise in layoffs at places like Ubisoft, the success of ARC Raiders has secured Embark stability and long-term security. In fact, Söderlund revealed that Embark is growing through new hires, while aiming to continue building out The Finals and ARC Raiders.

Even though The Finals is free to play and ARC Raiders costs players $40, both games benefit from having live-service style models, as new cosmetics, season passes, and other content arrive at a constant pace to keep players invested. With a continued revenue stream and the uptick in hiring, Söderlund also confirmed that Embark has two brand-new games in development, comically saying that “they hope to finish someday.” Thanking fans for purchasing the game, Söderlund sounded hopeful that the continued profits will allow Embark to help provide “competitive salaries, good bonuses for the people that have done all this hard work and deserve to be taken care of adequately.”

Needless to say, the future appears to be bright at Embark Studios both in the short and long-term. While fans are likely going to have to wait quite a while to get a look at the games in early development, both The Finals and ARC Raiders continue to pump out new content for players. In fact, ARC Raiders revealed a 2026 roadmap showcasing what’s coming over the next 4 months. Headwinds launched in January, bringing a new matchmaking option for high level players and the Bird CIty condition, but fans have plenty more to look forward to, including new ARC enemy types, map conditions, and even a brand-new map sometime in April during the Riven Tides update.

However, it seems that some fans weren’t overly satisfied with what Embark shared on the ARC Raiders roadmap. Söderlund did address the frustrations, saying that he understands where they’re coming from due to the roadmap being a bit more on the general side and lacking details. On one hand, Embark is developing things on the fly as the game is ultimately delivering content in a live-service-style format, so many of the details aren’t hammered out until the release gets closer. Söderlund confirmed that the studio is trying to be as transparent as it can be and continue to “build things that people love.”
