The Epic Games Store is currently giving away two free games while simultaneously revealing the freebies that PC gamers will get to claim on Thursday, October 15. The Epic Games Store free game giveaways happen every Thursday at 10:00am CST. At that point, the current EGS free games are cycled out of availability, replaced by new ones, and the next week’s offerings are formally unveiled, so users know what they can look forward to playing next.
The Epic Games Store free games for October 2026 started off with a bang, giving users the chance to add the FPS classic System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster to their digital libraries alongside Buried Stars. Epic Games Store users had until October 8 to claim those titles, at which point they were replaced by Out of Sight and TerraScape, which are up for grabs until Thursday, October 15 at 10:00am CST.
List of Current Epic Games Store Free Games
Once Thursday, October 15 at 10:00am CST rolls around, Out of Sight and TerraScape will be pulled from the free games window and replaced by Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and Bad Cheese. Agent A is an indie spy adventure/puzzle game that was first released in 2019 and earned mostly positive reviews. Bad Cheese, meanwhile, is a psychological horror game that uses a striking art style inspired by 1920s-era cartoons. Bad Cheese earned more mixed reviews when compared to Agent A, but it better matches the spooky season. Agent A and Bad Cheese will be free on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, October 22, but their replacements have yet to be announced.

With Bad Cheese being a part of the next Epic Games Store free games lineup, we officially have a trend of free horror games on the platform. System Shock 2 started the horror giveaways on October 1, and Out of Sight continued the momentum. Bad Cheese marks the third horror game given away for free on the Epic Games Store in October 2026, and chances are at least one of the free games on October 22 and October 29 will fit the bill as well. EGS users will have to wait and see what the following weeks have in store, but just about any PC horror game could potentially be one of the freebies.

While they wait to see what’s next, Epic Games Store users should make sure to claim the current free games. Out of Sight will be of particular interest to horror fans, as it challenges players to escape a creepy mansion as a blind girl who can only “see” through the eyes of her teddy bear. The “second-person” gimmick is definitely interesting, and the game does a good job of crafting a creepy atmosphere.
As far as other free game giveaways go, there are all kinds of freebies up for grabs for PC gamers right now. For example, Steam has multiple freebies at the moment, and so PC gamers should have no problem growing their libraries in October without spending a dime.
