Epic Games Store Users Have Until April 5 to Claim Another Game for Free (Absolutely No Cost)

Epic Games Store users know to expect free games every Thursday, but it seems the company is ramping up the release of additional free games, with users now able to claim the multiplayer survival horror game Together After Dark. This is in addition to another game released free on Epic Games Store, which itself is in addition to the standard selection of free games. In other words, EGS users have 4 games they can claim right now, as of this writing.

This cadence of new games is somewhat new on the Epic Games Store, but it’s not without reason. Epic Games recently eased up some of its publishing restrictions, making launching free games on the EGS easier than ever. Not only is this more promotion for free games on EGS by nature, but it also means it’s even friendlier to the wallets of consumers.

New Co-Op Horror Game on Steam is GTFO Meets Phasmophobia on a Doomed Train

Steam has plenty of indie horror games, but this newly released title takes the best of GTFO and Phasmophobia and gives it a chaotic twist.

Together After Dark is 100% Free on Epic Games Store Right Now

The latest title to take advantage of this promotion, Together After Dark, is a four-player co-op psychological horror survival game. That’s a mouthful, but in simpler terms, you and up to three friends take on the roles of four teens stuck in a forest at night. Unfortunately for them, they are not alone. A found footage game, players must explore a dangerous forest, walk treacherous paths covered in darkness, and encounter spooky paranormal events, while everything is seen through the retro grainy vibe of an old video camera.

Together, players overcome a series of challenges and horrors to escape the forest, although…it is necessary to escape this forest without being seen. Together After Dark typically retails at $2.99, which is bargain pricing for friend groups to begin with. It’s priced as such to encourage that cooperative gameplay, meaning a group of four only needs to collectively spend $12 usually. Now, a group of four friends can jump into this forest together and face the horrors at absolutely no cost. It remains free until April 5 at 3 am PT/6 am ET.

4 Games Are 100% Free on the Epic Games Store Right Now

Aside from Together After Dark, Epic Games Store users have three other games that are free as of this writing. However, they all expire or rotate out before Together After Dark, so anyone taking advantage of that deal might as well do so for these as well. Four free games, one stone.

First, there are the typical free games on the Epic Games Store. That includes Hyper Echelon and Havendock this week. Hyper Echelon is a fast-paced sci-fi shoot-’em-up where players upgrade their ship and battle waves of enemies in classic arcade-style action, while Havendock is a relaxing ocean-based city builder where you grow a floating colony, manage resources, and automate your settlement. Both of these games are available until April 2 at 8 am PT/11 am ET. Finally, Symmetry sees players take control of a spaceship crew on an abandoned planet, trying to make their way back home. Symmetry is available for free until April 1 at 3 am PT/6 am ET.

With the increased frequency of free game giveaways on Epic Games Stores and Steam’s Free to Keep promotion, not to mention other sources like Indie Gala and Lenovo Gaming, the beautiful part is that some of these games may not be for you, but the next might be. Stay tuned for more PC game giveaways.
