It’s a good month to be a Nintendo and Pokemon fan. With the return of the Nintendo Treehouse livestream, many fans are flocking toward the cozy excitement. While this reveal isn’t quite on the level of bombastic reveals expected of a full Direct, or even a proper celebration of Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, this Treehouse livestream is bound to bring good news for fans curious about Pokemon Pokopia.
The Treehouse showcase will air on February 24 and will feature extended gameplay for two upcoming Switch 2 titles, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup In Bellabel Park and Pokemon Pokopia. The presentation will run for around 80 minutes and will offer one of the clearest looks yet at the Pokemon life sim ahead of its eagerly awaited March 5 release. And while Pokopia isn’t about battles, it’s already doing something fans care deeply about: building a massive Pokedex. Here’s everything we know about the kinds of Pokemon to expect in Pokemon Pokopia.

Nintendo has announced a Treehouse Live presentation that will feature gameplay from both Pokemon Pokopia and Mario Bros. Wonder’s Switch 2 Edition.
Pokemon Pokopia’s Roster Already Spans Nearly Every Generation
Based on ads, trailers, and gameplay snippets, fans have already identified over 120 Pokemon appearing in Pokopia. That number is expected to grow significantly, as the full roster is rumored to be around 300. What makes this early list especially interesting is how much the game pulls from across the Pokemon franchise’s history. Nearly every mainline region is represented so far.

- Sinnoh: 14
- Unova: 11

This distribution across Pokemon regions suggests that the Pokopia Pokedex is designed as a cross-generational “greatest hits” roster.
Every Pokemon Confirmed for Pokemon Pokopia (So Far)
Unlike traditional entries in the series, Pokopia flips the formula entirely. There is no battling or catching, but rather, the life-sim takes an Animal Crossing-inspired approach. Players take control of a Ditto that has taken a human appearance to help transform an abandoned island into a thriving Pokemon community. The core loops revolve around rebuilding, decorating, and forming bonds with Pokemon residents.
That premise may sound new to Pokemon players, but it is intimately familiar to cozy gamers. The earliest impressions frame it as a blend of Pokemon charm and the slow-paced community-building of New Horizons, with a strong emphasis on coexistence rather than competition. That shift makes this roster feel less like a checklist and more like a cast of neighbors. While the regional breakdown gives a macro view, sightings or media confirmations paint a clearer picture.
The confirmed list mixes mascots, deep cuts, and returning fan favorites, but the full list may be revealed closer to March 5.

New Pokemon Variants Are Appearing in Pokemon Pokopia
Beyond returning favorites, Pokopia is introducing new Pokemon variants, though not entirely new species (so far). These variants continue the modern Pokemon trend of alternate forms instead of direct evolutionary lines. Four have been revealed so far that match the whimsical, cozy tone Pokopia will strive for.
Peakychu
Somehow, a cuter Pikachu is possible. This critter is a pale version of Pikachu with drooping ears and a softer appearance. Its typing hasn’t been confirmed, but it may be a Ghost Pokemon based on appearance alone.
Professor Tangrowth
Professor Tangrowth is the equivalent of Tom Nook in Animal Crossing or Mayor Lewis in Stardew Valley. This Pokemon variant is the player’s guide while they restore the island. Apparently, they have been living alone for quite some time.
Mosslax
This Snorlax variant is covered in moss, complete with a flower growing on the very top of its head. This design is appropriate for its setting: suggesting a long-abandoned world and its critters reclaiming themselves.
Smearguru
This Pokemon is a vibrant Smeargle variant covered in colorful paint splashes. It appears to lean into an artistic aesthetic that best matches the cozy gaming vibes.
