After more than two years in early access, Palworld 1.0 will officially launch on July 10, 2026. A lot has already changed since Palworld took the world by storm back in January 2024, when the game sold over 7 million copies in just 5 days after it hit early access on Steam. Now, the sum total of Palworld‘s updates in the years since its early access release is coming to a head with the launch of version 1.0, and several new features have already been confirmed for the release.
A new cinematic trailer announcing Palworld‘s 1.0 release date aired during the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase. In this trailer, Palworld fans got a look at a few new Pals along with a teaser for the game’s World Tree finally becoming an accessible location. The full scope of Palworld‘s 1.0 launch is still being kept under wraps, but Pocketpair continues to tease a major overhaul of Palworld with the release of 1.0.
Palworld Trademark Could Hint at Big Multiplayer Shift
Developer Pocketpair has a new Palworld trademark, and it’s set off a wave of speculation about a shift towards a multiplayer focus.
New Pals Revealed for Palworld 1.0
- Dupin
- Gray/Orange Dragon Pal
- Small Green, Black, and White Panda Pal
- Huge Sky Dragon Pal
- Sword Eel Pal
- World Tree Guardian Pal
The first named Pal officially coming in the 1.0 update was shared via a short teaser on X. Pocketpair revealed the new Pal, Dupin, as a cat-like jester in black and white with red poms at the ends of its ears. While Dupin’s Elemental typing hasn’t been shared, it’s likely going to be a Dark-Element Pal based on its color scheme and trickster nature that its reveal post highlights.

Although none of the Pals shown in the 1.0 trailer have been given official names, there are several newly revealed Pals for players to get hyped about. The first new Pal shown in the trailer is a massive gray-and-orange dragon that resembles the Dark/Dragon-Element Pal Astegon. This Pal can be seen charging up some kind of fire attack in the trailer after the player attacks it with their panda-inspired Pal, suggesting that the beast may be a Fire/Dragon-Element Pal.
The panda Pal that the player commands to attack the new dragon Pal is also a never-before-seen Pal that debuted in this trailer. This panda is much smaller and more feminine-looking than a Pal like Mossanda. Although both this new panda Pal and Mossanda share a green color scheme, it’s unclear if this new addition is also a Grass-Element Pal or if it’s something like a Neutral or Dark-Element Pal.
The most significant Pal shown in this 1.0 trailer seems to be the massive sky dragon Pal that the player character battles while flying atop their Jetragon mount. This Pal looks like Palworld‘s take on a Chinese Loong dragon, which has a serpentine body and lion-like mane around its head. While this Pal is almost certainly a Dragon Element Pal, it’s unconfirmed if it will have a secondary Element.
During this fight against the Loong Pal, the player summons another new Pal to fight alongside them. This eel Pal resembles a blade of some kind, which is then made even more apparent when the player proceeds to wield it like a sword, even going as far as unsheathing a serrated blade by pulling the Pal’s head out from the rest of its body. An eel Pal like this would likely fall into the Water Element Pal category, but that could end up being a red herring for its true Elemental type.
Not much can be gleaned from the Palworld 1.0 trailer regarding this final Pal, as it only appears briefly at the very end of the trailer, when the release date of July 10 is shown. However, it seems like this Pal will play a significant role in the endgame content of Palworld 1.0, as it is seen towering over the World Tree with its tentacle-like arms extended.
The World Tree New Map Area
Palworld‘s map is expanding even further in its 1.0 release, finally giving players access to the World Tree that has loomed in the distance since its early access launch. Each new Palworld update has expanded the map to a pretty significant degree, with locations like Sakurajima, Feybreak Island, and the islands added in the Tides of Terraria update being some of the most significant. Pocketpair has teased the World Tree and its surroundings as an endgame area for a while, but it seems like 1.0 will finally allow players to visit the location.
Based on the footage shown in the Palworld 1.0 trailer and comments made by developers at Pocketpair, it seems like Palworld will be almost an entirely different game once it leaves early access on July 10. However, while the World Tree has been planned to be the site of the finale for Palworld 1.0, Pocketpair hasn’t ruled out a “Palworld 2.0″ release yet. This means that even more locations could be added to Palworld‘s map in a post-1.0 update.
Do You Have to Wipe Your Current Save When Palworld 1.0 Launches?
Despite teasing a complete overhaul of Palworld‘s mechanics in its 1.0 update, Pocketpair has confirmed that players won’t need to wipe their save files when the update launches. This is great news for players who have already sunk hundreds of hours into a single world over the past 2.5 years that the game has been in early access. However, for the best experience, Pocketpair does recommend that players start a new save on a new world once Palworld 1.0 releases, though this is still optional.

Thankfully, Palworld players won’t have to lose out on any Pals they’ve tamed if they choose to create a new 1.0 world. The Global Palbox will allow players to transfer their tamed Pals between pre-1.0 worlds and worlds created after 1.0 launches, so players won’t have to say goodbye to their best Pals in Palworld. However, this does mean Palworld players should probably hold off on starting a new world in the meantime if they plan to do so when 1.0 launches, since the release is just over a month away.
