Fallout 76 Reveals Patch Notes for February 9 Update

Bethesda Game Studios has given players their first look at the patch notes for Fallout 76‘s February 9 update, which outlines which issues have been fixed and which ones are still being worked on. Fallout 76 originally made its debut on November 14, 2018, and is currently available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Due to the live-service title’s availability on a wide variety of platforms, many members of the community have been wondering if Fallout 76 will ever support cross-play. It’s a feature that has come up in the past, as it has become commonplace for many modern multiplayer titles to include cross-play in some fashion. In a recent interview, Creative Director Jon Rush claimed that the developers are currently looking into what implementing cross-play would entail. It’s a fairly encouraging update, as the team behind the game hasn’t considered adding cross-play until now. However, Rush was quick to say that fans shouldn’t expect anything in the near future. As of writing, Bethesda Game Studios hasn’t committed to implementing cross-play and hasn’t provided any kind of timeline. This means gamers should keep their expectations low for now, but it’s certainly possible that fans could see this feature come to the live-service title one day. Currently, the developers seem to be focused on smoothing out some of the game’s rougher elements, some of which were addressed in the most recent patch.

Is Fallout 76 Worth Playing in 2026?

Fallout 76 celebrates its eighth anniversary in 2026, and after years of updates and adding new content, is it worth sticking with?

Fallout 76’s February 9 Update Comes With Some Critical Fixes

In a recent post on Twitter, Bethesda Game Studios highlighted numerous bug fixes that have been included in Fallout 76‘s February 9 update. The patch notes, which will be listed fully below, state that the developers have managed to correct an issue that caused C.A.M.P. items purchased with Gold Bullion to not appear in the Build Menu. Similarly, the developers corrected an issue with the C.A.M.P. Module skin that would make the Build Menu appear empty. Building is a major part of Fallout 76, which means that these issues were causing plenty of headaches for players who ran into them while trying to set up a base.

The update also includes a fix for one of Fallout 76‘s Legendary Mods. Before the patch, players were able to utilize the Reflex Legendary Mod to increase their evasion chance to 100%, something that the developers didn’t intend. Now that the issue has been corrected, the Legendary Mod should give players a more balanced experience.

While the patch does include priority fixes, the notes explained that the developers are aware of several issues that they were unable to address with the February 9 update. The team is currently looking into issues with armor resistance, bows, and reports that players are receiving more damage than intended in Fallout 76‘s Burning Springs region. Burning Springs was introduced as part of a major update in late 2025, which means that many players are likely still exploring the region and taking advantage of everything it has to offer. Receiving more damage in the region may not be a game-breaking bug, but it’s certainly an issue that could impact the enjoyment of players exploring the zone.

With some ongoing issues left unaddressed, many fans are wondering if another patch could be just around the corner. Bethesda is no stranger to releasing updates for the live-service title, as Fallout 76 had one of the worst launches in the company’s history. However, through consistent updates and innovative content, the developers have managed to carve out a special experience for fans of the franchise. With even more content on the way, a lot of gamers are feeling optimistic about the future of Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 February 9 Patch Notes

  • Fixed an issue with a C.A.M.P. Module skin that caused the Build Menu to appear empty.
  • Fixed instances of the “New” category of the Pip-Boy acting erratically.
  • Fixed an issue which caused Grunt and Head Hunt enemies to be 1-Star.
  • Fixed an issue which caused C.A.M.P. items purchased with Gold Bullion to not appear in the Build Menu.
  • Fixed an issue with the Cryo status effect which caused the damage to not apply to enemies.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to obtain a 100% evasion chance with the Reflex Legendary Mod.

The team is continuing their investigation on armor resistances, bows (damage and repair), and reports that players are receiving more damage than normal in the Burning Springs region.
