Fallout 76 has just released its summer roadmap, and it’s promising the return of some of its staple content to help fill up players’ schedules from June until September. Last year introduced a few major updates to the game, and this year is bringing even more content for Fallout 76 fans to revel in.
Bethesda’s multiplayer Fallout spin-off has come a long way since its original launch nearly eight years ago. Fallout 76 has had to travel a long and rocky road to get to the solid state it’s at today, and it continues to evolve in exciting ways. The various 2025 updates added everything from Fallout 76‘s playable Ghouls to a brand-new map area that expands the dangerous Appalachian wasteland into southeastern Ohio. This year, Fallout 76 is making sure that there are plenty of summer events to keep players invested in the game’s world.

Fallout 76 has featured some wild monsters over the years, but one creature in particular showcases the deeper horror of FEV.
Bethesda Reveals Fallout 76’s Summer 2026 Roadmap
According to the roadmap, the next Fallout 76 season will officially kick off on June 2 and is called Appalachia Under Siege. After Fallout 76 Season 24 and its focus on cryptids like Bigfoot and aliens, Season 25 is continuing these themes in a few key ways. June and July bring forth plenty of community events, like a Seasonal Fish Run and Fasnacht, but August marks the return of the Zetans with another Invaders From Beyond event.

Players will have something new to look forward to during every week of June, July, and August, and September will be a turning point for the game’s seasonal calendar. September 8 will mark the start of Season 26 with a new Mothman Equinox event. Over the years, the presence of the Mothman in Fallout 76 has turned the cryptid into a beloved staple of the game, and the Mothman Equinox will help start the transition from the summer to the fall. Right now, Fallout 76‘s Season 26 doesn’t have a name, but the game’s dev team is bound to announce it near the end of Appalachia Under Siege’s run.
This year’s round of updates may not be as game-changing as last year’s, but they could be planting the seeds for something bigger down the road. A few months ago, Fallout 76‘s director said that “heads are going to explode” when the game’s 76th patch arrives. Based on estimates, Fallout 76‘s 76th patch is likely on target to be released sometime next year. It’s unclear exactly what developers have up their sleeves when it comes to this update, but the patch could be releasing during a pretty exciting time.

Season 2 of the Fallout TV series ended back in February, and Season 3 has already been greenlit. The next season is expected to arrive sometime in 2027, which means the 76th patch could be planned as a big promotion for the live-action series. Last year’s Burning Springs update added The Ghoul, so show promotions definitely aren’t off the table. This is simply speculation, though. Regardless of what that mysterious future patch has to offer fans, Fallout 76 continues to bring players consistent content. Appalachia Under Siege is putting the spotlight on some of Fallout 76‘s biggest community events, and there is still the chance that bigger surprises could be in store once September’s Season 26 theme is announced.
