Final Fantasy 14 announced that the game’s Limited Jobs, the Blue Mage and the upcoming Beastmaster, will have some additional restrictions on the content they can undertake once Patch 7.5 goes live on April 28. In short, the Blue Mage and the Beastmaster will not be able to accept a majority of Allied Society quests, so Final Fantasy 14 players with pending quests must complete them beforehand.
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.5, titled Trail to the Heavens, is the last major update of the Dawntrail expansion. The 7.5 update will be split into multiple parts released from April to September 2026, starting with a two-part main story quest line that should set the stage for Final Fantasy 14′s next expansion. Come April 28, Final Fantasy 14 players will have a new dungeon and trial battle to overcome, along with the last chapter of the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series, and some major upgrades to the game’s housing and dye systems.
Final Fantasy 14’s Limited Jobs Will Be More Restricted Than Before
Given that Limited Jobs are already prohibited from specific forms of content, such as the Duty Roulette and PVP game modes, Final Fantasy 14‘s 7.5 content patch will also make it a bit more difficult for players to level up Blue Mage. Square Enix confirmed that Patch 7.5 would restrict the quests that Limited Jobs can undertake. The Blue Mage and the upcoming Beastmaster will only be allowed to accept Job Quests specific to Limited Jobs, and quests that are available to any class or job in the game without restrictions. This means that Blue Mage and Beastmaster cannot accept Allied Society quests that use the “quest sync” feature.
In short, quest sync allows players to complete them at any level within an expansion’s level range, such as levels 51 to 60 for Heavensward quests. Allied Society quests must also be completed from start to finish on the same Job that they were accepted by. Although Beastmaster is currently not playable in Final Fantasy 14, the change from Square Enix was likely made to prevent players from leveling it up too quickly. Ergo, aside from Job-specific objectives and universal quests, the Beastmaster will likely rely on completing FATEs, defeating enemies in the open world, and taming specific monsters to go from level 1 to level 50.
More Details About FF14’s Beastmaster Will Be Revealed Soon
As of this writing, it is currently unknown when exactly the Beastmaster Limited Job will arrive in Final Fantasy 14‘s 7.5 update cycle. During Letter from the Producer Live Part 91, Square Enix revealed a few details about Final Fantasy 14‘s iteration of the Beastmaster. The Beastmaster is a Melee DPS Limited Job that wields a one-handed axe and has the power to tame various beastkin, such as a Coeurl or a Behemoth, and can have up to three beasts with them at a time. The Beastmaster can enter dungeons alone, with only their bestial companions at their side, and can access an exclusive feature called the Crucible of the Unbroken.
