Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy 9: Not Alone, a new release coming soon. Fans don’t have to wait very long at all to get their hands on this new Final Fantasy 9 release, which comes at a very reasonable price.
Final Fantasy 9 is widely considered one of the best RPGs of all time, a reputation that was only enhanced by its 2016 remaster. Square’s 2000 masterpiece still holds up to this day, with many fans calling for it to get the full Final Fantasy 7 remake treatment. Although this has yet to come to fruition, the original is still a blast to play.
Final Fantasy 9: Not Alone Releases in October 2026

On the Square Enix store, the company has officially opened pre-orders for a new Final Fantasy 9 music box named Not Alone. The tiny collectible features the silhouette of Zidane and companions Garnet, Vivi, Adelbert, Freya, Eiko, Quina, and Amarant as the design centerpiece, fitting the group on its small 5.99 x 5.30 x 3.98 cm frame. Pre-orders cost £24.99 ($28.99) for Final Fantasy 9: Not Alone, making it a pretty cheap collectible.

Square Enix expects to release the music box in October 2026 (this month), so fans won’t have to wait long to add this new Final Fantasy release to their collection. The box itself plays the Not Alone track from the Final Fantasy 9 original soundtrack. Over the last few months, Square Enix has been releasing music boxes across multiple Final Fantasy games, focusing on classic songs from throughout the series. Each music box design is carefully chosen and is “pulled right from the scenes where these songs are heard to evoke beloved memories of the series.”
A music box is incredibly on-brand for Final Fantasy, where music is so important. A lot of Square Enix’s merch focuses on the incredible soundtracks, which make each game all the more memorable. For example, Final Fantasy 10: Eternal Calm is a 2-disc analog vinyl set releasing in November 2026, making it a great time for collectors.
With Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launching next year, marking the end of the remake trilogy, fans have plenty to look forward to. It will be interesting to see whether Square Enix ever takes the same approach with Final Fantasy 9, given the fan demand for it.
