Final Fantasy Series Reveals Its First Nendoroid Figures

Final Fantasy Series Reveals Its First Nendoroid Figures

Final Fantasy 14 is getting a series of posable Nendoroid figures, marking the first time that the classic JRPG has released toys under the Nendoroid line. In addition to three designs based on some of the most popular NPCs around in Final Fantasy 14, the series will also be giving a nod to two icons from the very first game.

Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 14, in particular, have had no shortage of merchandise released in recent years. This is likely to ramp up further with the arrival of the Final Fantasy 14 Fanfests for 2026, which are to be held in three different locations over the course of the year, ushering in the future of Final Fantasy 14 and its next expansion pack with all that it entails.

Final Fantasy 14 Is Planning More Character Customization Updates

Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida offers encouraging words for players who want more character customization options in the game.

Final Fantasy Is Getting Its First Nendoroids

Now, it’s been revealed that Square Enix and Good Smile are teaming up to produce five different Final Fantasy Nendoroid designs. The designs include Final Fantasy 14 Scions Y’shtola Rhul and G’raha Tia, as well as Azure Dragoon Estinien. All three are pictured in their most recent outfits in the game, and will include their signature weapons, as well. At this time, the designs for the Final Fantasy 14 Nendoroids haven’t been finalized, with only placeholder images shared. As the image shows, fans should expect a “chibi”-style figure, as Nendoroids almost always have miniaturized proportions with larger heads, similar to Funko Pop or Figuarts Mini. Nendoroid figures generally have a few posable joints and additional pieces that can be swapped in to change the character’s facial expression, what they’re holding, and so on. However, any potential extras haven’t been revealed yet.

Additionally, the very first Final Fantasy is also getting a pair of its own Nendoroid figures, which will likely both arrive before the MMORPG trio do. These include the original Warrior of Light, who is pictured holding their sword in two different poses, and the iconic Chocobo, which is shown in three separate poses, including standing with its wings down and its head tipped to the side, two wings up and its feet set apart, and one with the Chocobo taking a step and waving.

Currently, only the Warrior of Light has a pre-order window announcement, and fans can expect to place their orders in March 2026. The Chocobo isn’t likely to be too far behind, given that it already has a finalized prototype, but the Final Fantasy 14 characters could be a long time off. So far, no pricing information or release date has been announced for any of these figures, but Nendoroid typically cost less than $100.

Final Fantasy Fans Are Enthusiastic About Nendoroids

So far, the community seems to be very excited about the new Nendoroid announcement, particularly among Final Fantasy 14 players. Numerous fans have said they’re waiting for the first moment they can put money down to pre-order the trio, while others are holding onto hope that the remaining Scions and other important characters may get the same treatment down the line. Some popular requests include that of fellow Scion Thancred, and some of the game’s biggest villains, namely those featured in Final Fantasy 14 expansions Stormblood and Shadowbringers.

Many in the general Final Fantasy fanbase have expressed excitement that the franchise is finally getting Nendoroids. While the series has seen plenty of figures and toys in the past, Good Smile’s Nendoroid and Figma figures, in particular, are quite popular among collectors for their posability and attention to detail when recreating a character’s design in physical form. Whether this leads to more Nendoroids or Figma down the line for Final Fantasy remains to be seen, but if they sell well, it’s more likely to happen.
