PlayStation Plus subscribers have a bonus freebie to claim right now, ahead of the monthly games giveaway. Every month, all PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to a selection of free games regardless of what tier they’re signed up for. The PS Plus free games are given away on the first Tuesday of each month, so the monthly games for October 2026 will be available starting Tuesday, October 6.
On that day, PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for their digital libraries. Since these games are being given away through the Essential tier of PlayStation Plus, subscribers are able to keep them forever as long as they stay subscribed. They just have to make sure that they claim the games before the free giveaway window expires on November 2. In the meantime, there is a bonus PS Plus freebie that’s actually available to claim and download right now.
PS Plus Subscribers Have a New Bundle to Claim
PS Plus subscribers can now claim the Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle, aka PS Plus Pack 8, at no additional cost. This new bundle includes two Operator Skins, four Weapon Blueprints, a new Finishing Move, a Weapon Charm, an Emote, an Animated Calling Card, an Animated Emblem, a Reticle, a Weapon Sticker, and two Gobblegums. The content is available to use in both Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, it should be noted that PS4 gamers are unable to use the content in Warzone on PS4. They can still use the content in the PS4 version of Black Ops 7, though.
This is because Call of Duty is finally phasing out PS4 support. It’s been announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is skipping PS4 entirely. And not only that, but Call of Duty: Warzone‘s PS4 version is shutting down. While an exact date has not been announced at the time of this writing, Call of Duty: Warzone will only be playable on PS4 until the end of Black Ops 7 Season 6. From that point forward, anyone wanting to play Warzone will have to do so on a newer console or PC.
The Call of Duty: Warzone PS Plus freebie isn’t the only bonus freebie that subscribers will be able to snag this month. The Starter Pack for Hunt: Showdown 1896 will be available starting October 6 when the game itself is added to the PS Plus free games lineup, and the Dragur Reinhardt + 5 Tier Skips Pack for Overwatch will be available starting October 7. What’s interesting is that both Call of Duty and Overwatch are technically owned by PlayStation rival Microsoft, yet PS Plus subscribers continue to enjoy new perks for the games.
Otherwise, the next date that PS Plus subscribers will want to keep an eye on is Wednesday, October 14. That day is most likely when Sony will announce the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for October 2026, which will then be distributed throughout the rest of the month.
