Fortnite 2026 Update Roadmap (All Upcoming Seasons and Events)

Fortnite is an ever-changing game that is constantly receiving content updates. Despite the fact that seasons are themed, and players gain access to a lot of their content when they begin, Epic Games continues to introduce more weapons, cosmetics, and mechanics as they progress. Additionally, as players get closer to the end of a season, the storyline evolves, and there may be events that require big updates. Plus, when a Fortnite season or chapter ends, there is always a major update to take players wherever the game goes next.

There are dozens of updates each year. Epic Games has formulated a roadmap for all of the updates that will take place in 2026, giving players an idea of how the upcoming year will be. Below, players will learn when the next Fortnite update is supposed to drop, and they will also be able to check out all planned dates for this year’s updates.

When Is the Next Fortnite Update? (39.30)

What to Expect From Fortnite Update v39.30

The next Fortnite update, v39.20, is scheduled for Thursday, January 22. Downtime should start at 4 AM ET and last only a few hours. Once players have downloaded the patch and servers come back up, they will be able to dive in and explore all of the new content.

At the moment, Epic Games has not given much information about what’s coming to Fortnite in v39.30. However, leakers suggest that the crossover game mode with Warner Bros. should get a trailer the day before the update so it can go live after downtime.

South Park will remain in-game for another week after the update, as well as the 5-player squad mode. All of this will be removed from Fortnite on February 5 with the launch of v39.40.
