Fortnite Issues Refunds for D4vd Cosmetics

Fortnite Issues Refunds for D4vd Cosmetics

Fortnite has made a statement letting players know that they can freely request a refund of the D4vd items that were previously made available in-game as a result of the singer’s recent arrest and alleged crimes. Fortnite has collaborated with hundreds of celebrities, brands, and franchises over the years. The game’s popularity and appeal to audiences of all ages make it the perfect contender for crossovers and themed events.

Music has played a major role in Fortnite since Chapter 1, and it has only gotten bigger over the years. It all started with emotes, which are some of the most popular types of in-game cosmetics, as players love Fortnite dances as well as the tracks that play along with the animations. Eventually, Epic Games brought music artists to the game via in-game concerts, the Fortnite Festival Music Pass, and jam tracks. Players could get cosmetics, emotes, and music tracks inspired by their favorite bands and artists as part of the Icon Series.

Fortnite Comments on Recent FNCS Disqualifications

Epic Games issues a statement regarding the controversial disqualification of popular streamers a few hours before day one of the FNCS Major 1 finals.

Fortnite Grants Refunds for D4vd Items

D4vd, a singer and former Fortnite streamer, is one of the many artists whose music was added to Fortnite. In the past year, he has been under investigation for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Naturally, many players who acquired his items no longer felt comfortable having them in their in-game lockers. He has at last been charged with the crime, and investigators have found some very disturbing evidence while examining his electronic devices. However, the singer has pleaded not guilty and continues to claim his innocence. As a result of this new information, Epic Games is now allowing players to refund their D4vd items in Fortnite.

On April 25, 2026, Redditor NickSaysHenlo shared an email from Epic Games support saying that they would be processing a Fortnite refund request made in September 2025. This player had to wait over six months for their request to get a response, so it is unknown if the timing was a coincidence or if Epic Games acted due to the fact that D4vd was recently arrested and charged with murder. Regardless, players were simply happy to know that they wouldn’t have to keep these items any longer.

ShiinaBR, a well-known leaker in the community, made a comment on Twitter about this Reddit post, and Epic Games responded, letting them know that as of April 28, players will be able to get an immediate self-service refund for the D4vd items. Additionally, anyone who has asked for refund requests via Epic Games’s customer support will also receive them soon.

In August 2024, Fortnite held a D4vid Cup, which allowed players to get the Feel It emote before it was sold in the Item Shop, an emote that featured D4vd’s song “Feel It.” Additionally, some of his songs were also made available as jam tracks. These items aren’t as expensive as some other Fortnite cosmetics, but for most, this isn’t a matter of getting their V-Bucks back — they simply don’t want any association with D4vid. For now, it is unknown if Epic Games will completely remove these items from the game in the future or if it is up to players to decide whether they want them in their lockers.
