Fortnite is teasing an unexpected crossover with popular HoYoverse sci-fi RPG Honkai: Star Rail, potentially hinting at multiple major characters coming to the shooter. The beloved battle royale from Epic Games has become widely recognized for the staggering array of collaborative content added to the game, including everything from TV shows and movies to other video games and famous musicians. Fortnite‘s ongoing Chapter 7 Season 1 puts the focus on the South Park franchise as its main collab, while also introducing skins based on The Office, Kizuna Ai, and more. Now, Fortnite looks to have some more surprises on the way.
Recent leaks from the battle royale have suggested that Fortnite has a plethora of plans in the works for its future crossovers. Rumors surrounding the game have suggested that Fortnite is working on collaborations with Ben 10 and Solo Leveling set to arrive throughout the year. Early information has even hinted at an upcoming crossover with Blizzard’s Overwatch. But the next crossover is with something completely unexpected.
Fortnite is Teaming Up With Honkai: Star Rail
Epic Games officially teased a brand-new Honkai: Star Rail crossover with an image shared on the Epic Games Store’s social media. The post shows a pair of swords stuck in the ground, referencing “trailblazing” within the caption for the post and hinting at the HoYoverse collab. The swords included in the image suggest that both Kafka and Blade will be among the characters included within the collaboration, with the post likely suggesting that the Trailblazer will also be featured during the event. Fortnite has not officially detailed when the Honkai: Star Rail crossover will arrive within Fortnite, nor any of the content set to be added.
Honkai: Star Rail‘s collaboration with Fortnite will come as the sci-fi RPG gears up for its biggest update of the year. HoYoverse is expected to officially launch the Version 4.0 update for Honkai: Star Rail on February 14, bringing the fifth playable world to the game. HoYoverse has already teased two playable characters coming to the RPG with the launch of Planarcadia, with Sparxie as a new variant of popular character Sparkle alongside new character Yao Guang. The HoYoverse RPG will also celebrate another anniversary within the next few months, with Honkai: Star Rail turning three years old on April 26.
Fortnite’s Honkai: Star Rail Content Could Point Towards Future HoYoverse Collabs
While not much has been revealed about Fortnite‘s collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail, the crossover has led to plenty of speculation about future partnerships. Honkai: Star Rail‘s addition to Fortnite came as a surprise to fans, with many shocked that the sci-fi RPG will receive a Fortnite crossover before HoYoverse’s biggest game in Genshin Impact. Many fans have also suggested that one of HoYoverse’s newer games, Zenless Zone Zero, would fit well as a Fortnite collaboration, given its modern, urban setting.
The crossover between Fortnite and Honkai: Star Rail is expected to arrive as the battle royale moves towards the end of its jam-packed start to Chapter 7. Season 1 is currently scheduled to run through March 5, with the chapter welcoming a brand-new island to the game with a plethora of new points of interest and landmarks. Fortnite also recently launched a brand-new LTM themed around Fall Guys, with the Crown Jam game mode currently set to be available through February 9. With multiple new crossovers on the way, Fortnite is gearing up for a huge finish to Chapter 7’s first season throughout the coming weeks.
