From the moment 4-year-old Cameron first stepped out into Glimmer in Spyro 2, he knew video games were going to play a central role in the rest of his life. Though he never planned to make it the focal point of his career, Cameron spent the vast majority of his spare time growing up playing games, and following graduation from the University of Reading, he thought he’d try his hand at writing a few reviews. Six years later, Cameron has reviewed countless games, written thousands of news and feature pieces, and interviewed a wide range of developers for GameRant.
Developer Playground Games has just issued a statement reiterating that Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on PlayStation 5 by the end of 2026. This confirmation from Playground Games follows a string of recent rumors claiming that Forza Horizon 6‘s PS5 version could be delayed into next year.
Forza Horizon 6 Is Still Coming to PS5 ‘Later This Year’
On September 7, Playground Games updated the official Forza website, publishing an article detailing all of the new content included in Forza Horizon 6‘s new British Automotive update. While the new Drift Attack mode, four new cars, and the new Festival Playlist and Car Pass are all key highlights of the post, PlayStation 5 owners will find the most useful information towards the end of the article.
Right at the end of the latest Forza news post, in the section titled “Japan Awaits!”, Playground Games makes an official statement regarding the launch of Forza Horizon 6‘s PlayStation 5 port. The statement reads, “Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on PS5 later this year,” and reminds would-be players that they can wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store to be eventually notified of its availability. This is obviously a fairly generic statement, but it seems to be a confirmation that the recent rumors regarding Forza Horizon 6‘s PS5 version aren’t entirely true. That said, a delay isn’t now an impossibility just because this statement was made.
