Forza Horizon 6 Releases Series 3 Update

Playground Games launches Series 3 for Forza Horizon 6, bringing in a new update while also adding content inspired by Italian Exotic vehicles like Lamborghini and Ferrari. The launch of Forza Horizon 6 was just the start of the experience for players as Playground Games continues to draw players back with a rotating series of challenges and rewards packaged in a new series update each month.

These new series, which represent Forza Horizon 6‘s seasonal updates, launch about every month. In addition to releasing a major new patch intended to fix various issues and make improvements to the experience, they also reset the seasonal cycle in-game. Players are presented with a new Festival Playlist that features challenges and cars that cycle across Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, each with new rewards and vehicles to unlock. While Season 2 of Forza Horizon 6 was a retro-inspired series update, the latest addition takes inspiration from some big-name Italian exotic cars.

Forza Horizon 6’s Save Loss Bug May Finally Be Fixed

One of the worst bugs in Forza Horizon 6 may finally be eradicated as Xbox and Playground Games have found a solution to prevent save data loss.

Forza Horizon 6 rolled out Series 3 this week, known as Italian Exotics. As part of the new series, players will have a new Festival Playlist to work through over the next four weeks, with Playground Games confirming that 3 brand-new cars never before seen in the franchise are available. Specifically, players can unlock the 2024 Lamborghini Temerario, 2022 Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, and 1984 De Tomaso Pantera GT5 as reward cars for earning Festival points by beating challenges. Other unlockable cars include the likes of the 2022 Pagani Huayra R, 2020 Ferrari Roma, 1982 Lancia 037 Stradale, and more.

In addition to new cars, Series 3 adds more content for players to check out. While Forza Horizon 6 is already stuffed with collectibles, this update adds the Tank Latte Cup Collectible, which are hidden throughout the Ito region of Japan. The Event Lab has also been enhanced with 52 new props as well, including those with the Horizon Decades brand.

The Series 3 update is also adding a new feature called Series History. Similar to how Forza Horizon 6 rewarded franchise veterans, the Series History does something similar for long-term players, which features exclusive cars that can be unlocked based on the total amount of playlist points earned. For those who have earned 500 lifetime points, they’ll be able to unlock the 1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S Series II alongside an achievement to recognize the moment.

For fans of Forza Horizon 6‘s Aftermarket feature, Series 3 is adding some major deals on Italian exotic vehicles at the Aftermarket dealership0 located near the Horizon Stadium in the Shimanoyama region. In addition, Playground Games is making 6 cars, typically exclusive to wheelspins, available as Aftermarket Cars for a limited time at the dealership. Specifically, players can get their hands on these vehicles for a special deal:

  • 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO
  • 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution
  • 2019 Ferrari F8 Tributo
  • 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
  • 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
  • 1999 Lamborghini Diablo GTR

Alongside all of this new content, Series 3 also brings with it a bunch of fixes and improvements. Part of that includes a complete reset of the leaderboards that have been impacted by a recent exploit from users utilizing Drag Tires to set unrealistic entries.

Forza Horizon 6 Series 3 Patch Notes

  • Performance and stability fixes.

AI

  • Improvements have been made to reduce excessive AI collisions on corner entries (Bug 4388349).

  • Improvements to music track rotation on the radio (Bug 4327383).

  • New race exhaust audio for the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB.

  • Fixed an issue with the 1995 Toyota MR2 GT where kerbs could cause a dead stop (Bug 4426504).
  • Fixed an issue where Treasure Cars could be removed from My Cars (Bug 4425400). If you have removed these by accident, please submit a ticket to Forza Support.
  • Made a change where the Credit cap was being incorrectly applied to non-Auto Show cars in the Auction House (Bug 4403320).
  • The price of the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version has been adjusted to better reflect the value of the car (Bug 4388342).

EventLab

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to Rewind in Free Drive (Bug 4377375).
  • Fixed an exploit where players were able to duplicate other players’ EventLab creations (Bug 4460100).

Gameplay

  • Fixed an exploit where removing a locked tune during a PR Stunt would allow players to keep their speed to achieve unrealistic scores in a lower Car Class (Bug 4390806).
  • Fixed an issue where players could be presented with a black screen when starting a Monthly Rivals through the Test Drive feature (Bug 4395847).
  • Fixed an issue where the LINK Clean Sweep Skill was not registering in the Collection Journal (Bug 4402867).

  • Fixed an issue where disabling Head-To-Head Requests in your session also disabled them in The Eliminator (Bug 4447380).
  • Fixed an issue with Hide & Seek where players were not being awarded Level XP (Bug 4372539).
  • Swapped the 2021 Alumicraft #122 Class 1 Buggy for the 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck in The Eliminator (Bug 4378156).

Visuals

  • Fixed an issue where exhaust vapour would not always match the location of the exhaust (Bug 4425411).
  • Fixed an issue where using chrome car paint over plastic resulted in a flat finish (Bug 4380657).
  • Fixed an issue where Manufacturer Preset colours would not appear correctly when a livery was applied (Bug 4379802).
  • Improvements to visual issues when combining certain items of clothing, such as clipping.

Leaderboards

  • Reset all Rivals Leaderboards due to the presence of unrealistic entries (Bug 4443235).

These unrealistic entries have been achieved through the exploitation of glitches or obtained by using Drag Tires before the latest physics balance changes we’ve introduced on June 15.

Therefore, we’ve made the decision to proceed with a complete reset of the affected Leaderboards, which will be wiped as soon as these exploits get patched in the game.

We understand this will be disappointing to players with legitimate lap times; however, we’ve chosen this approach so that way everyone has a clean sheet to play with going forward. Regardless of the Leaderboards deletion, any clean times posted to earn the associated Collection Journal items for the Rivals will not be lost and will remain unlocked.

Our team are also looking into resolving some glitches that can be used to pollute PR Stunts Leaderboards with unrealistic scores, and while we don’t have a timeline yet, we do expect to perform a complete wipe of those Leaderboards once the fixes have rolled out.

Save issues update – ongoing investigation

We continue to work on improvements across all platforms to alleviate the issue of lost saves affecting some players in Forza Horizon 6.

The XBOX team have rolled out updates for XBOX Series X|S and PC to help improve these issues. The latest of these was on July 2, so please ensure your devices are up to date.

With this update, if you experience data loss, you’ll be presented with a conflict dialog box the next time you load your game. To recover your progress, choose the Cloud save option, which restores your most recent saved version.
